I wasn't sure why I needed this just because I have a tonneau cover, but now I see. It allows you to remove the extender with out having to open the cover. I just wish the reason had been explained.

The bed extender arrived quickly and install was a snap. Be careful tightening the screws for the uprights. They feel like they could strip easily. 30 lbs is not much. The extender looks really good and works great for controlling cargo inside the bed which was my main reason for purchasing.

This thing is great! Very easy to install, though the templates are not well thought out. I'd recommend watching this video on youtube: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=XkQFrBhegOk Double check the placement of the template before you drill.
Once installed extender disengages easily from the box if you need to fit odd shaped loads. Rubber bumpers on extender allow for carefree flipping of the extender. Very happy with purchase.

I am pleased with this bed extender. I feel the quality is very high, especially for the price compared to other types of extenders. Install was a little tricky with the template that is included, but not bad. Be sure to measure twice and test fit before drilling into your truck bed. I would recommend this product.

I was really looking to get the black rack that was pictured on the website, but received the one that narrows down more than shown. So I was a little disappointed, but decided to open it up and see if it would work for my needs. The quality of the AMP product was very good and it went together fine. It fits the truck well and the ease of use can't be beat. I decided to keep it and get over the disappointment of not getting what was pictured in the website ad.
