Auto Vent Shades Hoodflector bug shields are a low profile version on the AVS Bugflector II. This AVS hood shield helps to prevent damage to the hood from stones and bugs. The AVS Hoodflectors are custom molded of strong and durable impact modified acrylic with an easy no drill installation. This bug guard installs quickly and easily with 3M OEM approved tape or mechanical fasteners. AVS Bugflectors has custom fit applications for pickup trucks, vans and SUVs. AVS bug deflectors are with a smoke finish.

(La Vergne, TN) on 11/2009 The low-profile shape of the AVS Hoodflector gives a modern look to a necessary trim piece for truck owners. I was getting a lot of small nicks just behind the factory chrome trim on the edge of the hood. I honestly had not even considered a bug shield until I saw the AVS product while searching for a grille insert. It was easy to install and looks great. I get a lot of compliments about the shape and fit of the deflector.

Only thing I didn't like was that the new one was about 1.5 inches more narrow, so doesn't cover the hood as far. But, the bright side is that it turns up more on the edge, so deflections should be ok. Easy to install given I already had one. 4 screws came out, 4 screws went in - took 10 minutes. Shipping was good too from company.

Also I will be writing the company because the product had a ton of static electricity, and after installing, and re-mounting the grill, I took a look to see how nice it looked, and found it had broken on the passenger side! NO, not from over tightening the grill, I re-tightened the grill with utmost care. You cannot notice the breakage unless you look closely, but I'm sure it will soon destroy the whole thing! I beleive AVS has very good products. Maybe I just "Got a bad one"?? I hope they will replace it for me.

Looks great when finished but is a bit complicated. You have to take your grill OFF!! Was not expecting that kind of work. Took over an hour to complete.
