Bak boards are made heavy duty, starting with an aluminum frame which can support up to 500lbs. The ABS plastic is layered on top, covering the already corrosion resistant aluminum. And if you're worried about fading, don't be! The ABS is a special blend and is resistant to UV rays. On top of this layer, Bak running boards have an anti-slip rubber strip that covers the 6" step area for the full length of the board.
Mounting a set of these truck running boards is kept pretty simple since custom brackets are included. The brackets that Bak sends are made of stainless steel so rust will never be a problem. You should have no issues mounting these running boards in about an hour, maybe a little longer if you decide to get the lighted version. The ABS surface won't require any special prep work should you decide you want a custom paint finish.
