    Jeff and a Big Truck

The morning started with a good cup of coffee from Starbucks and then we headed to the tram station at the MGM.  After about a 10 minute ride we arrived at the show.  This year, our badges are our “Buyer” scan cards for the vendors, so it was nice not having to get into a line to get a scan card.

The truck area was located on the 2nd floor of the south hall.  Our goal for the day was to visit with a number of our top vendors and then browse around the area.  The mood of the show was pretty lively.  On a side note, we got to see “Dunn” from Brooks N Dunn on his way to the Toyota booth for a little PR work with the Toyota “Brooks N Dunn” pickup.

We visited with a number of companies including Dee Zee, ACI, TruXedo, Bak, Weathertech, Bushwacker, Superwinch, Extang, Bedrug, Putco, Truck Lyte, Kargo Master and about a dozen others.

There were many new products and a few noteworthy ones include the BakFlip F1 which is a fiberglass reinforced version of the BakFlip along with BedTreads; a bedliner made by Bedrug that looks like a spray-in bedliner but attaches to your truck bed like a bedrug.   Extang is releasing the Encore folding tonneau which is a lower profile version of a hard fold up bed cover.  Dee Zee is releasing a new style of running boards called the NXC for CUV’s and the NXT for pickup trucks.

We visited the new products area and it was packed with all sorts of new ideas.  Some shipping and some still in development.

Toyota motor company has a strong presence this year at the show and were showing off all the new hot cars and trucks in the Toyota line up.   And if you are a Camaro fan, there were lots of decked out eye catching Camaros to be seen.

For Day 2 of the Sema show we are mixing things up this year and heading the Zappos for a tour of the company headquarters.  This is an internet retailer a few books could be written about.  We are very jacked to be doing the Zappos tour.     You can see some of the pictures and a copy of videos on our Sema Show 2009 page.

    Happy Trails,

    Scott Bintz
