Ford V-6 Factory Workers Taking a Break from Vacation (Cleveland.com)
Ford’s V-6 is in high demand. Engine Plant No. 1 in Brook Park, Ohio makes the 3.7-liter base engine for the F-150 and the 3.5-liter EcoBoost which new owners can now choose as a gas saving option. Both options have been in such high demand this year the plant in Ohio has been hard at work trying to keep up with orders. In fact, they’ve been working so hard that instead of taking a two week shut down for a well deserved break (like they normally do) they are only going to let their plant rest for one week.

The New Lamborghini SUV
Not since the discovery of peanut butter and jelly… or peanut butter and chocolate for that matter… has their been a marriage of two opposites that has been so advantageous. Maybe.
Lamborghini and Porsche are joining forces to develop a 4-door SUV concept vehicle.
Why are they doing this? To annoy Ferrari of course! From the horses mouth, Stefan Winkelmann (Lamborghni’s Head Cheese) “Ferrari can’t follow into this market, because it has no links to SUVs at all. Lamborghini is entirely credible as an SUV maker, but it can’t do it alone. And as Porsche has shown it already knows how to do it, it makes sense to work together.”

Rally Concept Truck at Car and Driver.com
Chevy unveiled their new concept truck, the Rally, in Beunos Aires (Argentina) last week. Yes, Argentina. NOT the United States. However, Chevy insists it is a ‘global truck.’ Probably indicating that eventually it will be produced and distributed in all countries Chevy has a foothold. It’s an indication they may in fact do this, but they’ve only confirmed production for areas in South America and Asia.
It appears to be geared toward the off-roading crowd. It’s a crew-cab with a 2.8-liter turbodiesel 4-cylinder engine. Equipped with 4-wheel drive, it sports 18-inch aluminum wheels and 12-inch wide tires. The suspension is considered ‘high performance’ and probably ready to take on a mountain if you choose not to climb it on your own.

Smart Car Monster Truck
You’re seeing the future. This is what a Monster Truck Rally will look like because fuel efficiency will take over and the gas guzzling beasts of yesterday will be a thing of the past.
Imagine it… a post apocalyptic world filled with Nissan Leafs Monster Truck, Smart Car Monsters and Ford Hybrids tearing up the highway in a horrible parody of Mad Max.
When they made Beyond Thunderdome, they were way off the mark.

Front End Loader Piroutte
These daredevils decided to take a day off from building to show off some of the skills they learned on the job site. By heavily weighing down their buckets, the operators are able to balance these front end loaders. It’s a teeter-totter act that includes some bouncing.
How in the world did they accomplish that?
Understandably, the music doesn’t exactly match. It’s still pretty interesting to see these guys ‘bounce’ the tonnage around.

It’s like stepping back in time. Photographer John P Sullivan has a knack for capturing the beauty of old truck classics like this 1956 Chevy 3100 and 1966 Chevy C-10. You gotta love the grill on the 3100, it almost looks as though it’s smiling at you.
Classic car shows are a staple of summer. What small town summer fest can have a parade or a street carnival without the obligatory car show to keep the gear heads entertained as well?

Highland Turbo Tailgate Net
Making a list of tips on how to save money at the pump seems pretty straightforward. But let’s be honest, we could all use a little reminding. Especially with summer road trips coming up, hauling the camping is hitting the pocket book especially hard this year.
This article did a great job of breaking down the best ways to cut down on your truck’s fuel consumption. A lot of it has to do with your driving style:

Ron Lemier's Wood Burning Truck
Hey kids! Let’s go for a ride in the old truck. We have to let it warm up a bit first. Did I say warm up? What I really mean is stoke up for a bit.
Meet Ron Lemier. He’s converted his 1960 Ford F250 into a lean, mean wood burning machine. He can use both regular gas fuel to drive and switch over to a wood burning stove located in the truck bed to power his trips around Michigan.
“The main reason I did it is because when I heard about it, I really wondered if it would work,” Ron said.

5.4 Ton Modified Pull in Fuchtorf, Germany
Conversation overheard in Germany. Please imagine their accents.
German #1 – “I’ve modified my 1/2 ton pickup truck. It now has more power than any other truck on the road. In addition to the changes I’ve made to the engine’s torque and overall performance, I’ve given her a new paint job.”
German #2 – “That is nothing compared to what I’ve done to my 3/4 ton monster. I’ve lifted it, simplified performance control with chips and chromed everything that is visible on the exterior. People must where sunglasses when I drive her down the road.
