Ford’s V-6 is in high demand. Engine Plant No. 1 in Brook Park, Ohio makes the 3.7-liter base engine for the F-150 and the 3.5-liter EcoBoost which new owners can now choose as a gas saving option. Both options have been in such high demand this year the plant in Ohio has been hard at work trying to keep up with orders. In fact, they’ve been working so hard that instead of taking a two week shut down for a well deserved break (like they normally do) they are only going to let their plant rest for one week.
Ford was not expecting such a surge in orders this early in the year and has been trying to pace their work force to keep up. Many of the staff has decided to cut their vacations short to ensure that orders are fulfilled in a timely manner.
