Chevy unveiled their new concept truck, the Rally, in Beunos Aires (Argentina) last week. Yes, Argentina. NOT the United States. However, Chevy insists it is a ‘global truck.’ Probably indicating that eventually it will be produced and distributed in all countries Chevy has a foothold. It’s an indication they may in fact do this, but they’ve only confirmed production for areas in South America and Asia.
It appears to be geared toward the off-roading crowd. It’s a crew-cab with a 2.8-liter turbodiesel 4-cylinder engine. Equipped with 4-wheel drive, it sports 18-inch aluminum wheels and 12-inch wide tires. The suspension is considered ‘high performance’ and probably ready to take on a mountain if you choose not to climb it on your own.
The interior doesn’t sport a lot of doo-dads, but it does provide the rider with neoprene seats which you can buckle into with 5 point harnesses. There is a navigation system for your co-pilot which is pretty appropriate. I’m assuming this is going to be a vehicle that takes a few back roads.
What do you think of this design? Too much like a car or a CUV?
