US Marine Corporal Larry Draughn
Once in a while, we’re a little amazed at how well everything comes together. A little while back the head of our Customer Loyalty team, Debi, was contacted by Semper Fi Marketing about a wounded Marine. They were specifically interested in RealTruck donating a US Rack brand Hawaiian Saw Horse Rack for Corporal Larry Draughn Jr. Draughn had been severely injured when he stepped on an improvised explosion device while serving in Afghanistan in 2009. The Semper Fi team was on a mission to make his life easier now that he was relearning to get around on his prosthetic legs.
Debi was moved and after reading an article and watching a video, the entire Customer Loyalty Team was moved. So they went to work and called US Rack. After hearing the story, US Rack decided to not only donate free shipping, but the entire rack was donated free of charge and sent directly to Corporal Draughn. The owner of US Rack was in the Marines himself.
Again, we’re amazed at how well everything was coming together.
At RealTruck we decided to add to the pile by donating a Stampede Military Logo Bug Shield for USMC and the FanMat Marine Floor Mats. This donation came from the Customer Loyalty Team fund!
An update from the Semper Fi organizational team for the Corporal!
The fundraiser for wounded Marine Cpl. Larry Draughn Jr., is going extremely well. We have gotten nearly every tool on the list. We plan to deliver the items in a few weeks after final inspections have completed on his new house and keys have been turned over to him. At this time we are still in need of a chain saw, a small step ladder and some hammers and maybe a tool chest (new or used). The support for Larry has been outstanding and he is really appreciate of all the donations that are coming in.
