Veterans are paired with professional anglers for a fun filled, relaxing weekend of fishing!
There are those who never forget. Folks who make it their business to keep what is real and important at the front of your consciousness and in your daily lives. People who make it their goal in life to Keep it Real all the time. Or is that Keep it Reel?
This is the fourth year the Marines Helping Marines Fishing Tournament will be held and it is going to be bigger and better than before. May 19th kicks off the fun-filled weekend for 20 or more severely wounded vets and their families.
Veterans are paired up with professional anglers who will teach them the ropes of bass fishing. Together the two will perform as a team against other anglers. The tournament is open to the public. After the tournament concludes, a barbeque will be held for all and proceeds from the day will be given to the Marines Helping Marines foundation.
Why is this so important? These folks gave their best and more going to bat for our country. They’ve been confined to the hospital for rehabilitation and many can not even go home as they live outside the area.
