Feast your eyes on a small but respectable collection of some F100s, F Series Rangers, F350s, and more in our old Ford pickup photo round up.
Although we work in a pretty modern aftermarket industry, there are afternoons when we long for the good old days of trucks made from ridiculously heavy gauged steel and engines tuned so personally that if anyone else tried to start ‘em, they’d flood. It’s a special nostalgia, that funny flutter you get when you see an old Ford F100 from ’64 chuggin’ down the street on the way to a car show. You think to yourself, “my Grandpa had one just like that, only his was red.”
It’s days like these when we dig into our links and archives and pull out the old Ford pickup photo gallery.
Maybe you grew up like some of us did and when the kids had the opportunity to go to town you all piled into the back of the truck with your siblings or your cousins. Everyone held on for dear life while your uncle took the curve a little too sharp – all in good fun. On colder days you had to squish together in the front and search for the lap belt in between the seats. The saddle blanket style seat covers were the only thing keeping the springs from tearing a new hole in your rear.
And the heater, well, that was either on full blast or off. There was no in-between with that lever!
We’re eternally grateful to the owners, restorers, and protectors of old Ford pickups. We applaud you for taking the time, money, and effort to keep them alive in their many forms – classic, upgraded, and even tricked out.
We’re also thankful there are guys like Dave in Georgia, who goes by the name of Dave* Seven One online. He does a great job of taking photographs of classic Ford trucks and sharing them with the world. They’re curators in the same way the owners of the trucks themselves are. Not only are they preserving the memory, they’re sharing it with the world!
