Product took two months to be delivered. I contacted Real Truck Twice - and was talked out of cancelling order. Product did not have installation instructions which cost unnecessary delays. Welded mountings were 3/4 to 1 inch off on alignment with truck frame, causing modifications. Product was bulkier in size (dimensions) than expected. Welds were not very clean - just a step above bird droppings (builder needs to move up to a quality mig welder. I wish I had access to better photos of the product installed, than what was available - I would have selected a different product. My new Warn 12,000 pound winch floats in the bumper space - it is so large. Despite my comments, the product is well built and should withstand a lot of abuse.
The rear bumper was well designed, easy to install and proportional to vehicle. Looks great!
I bought a Boondocks Bumper for the front of my 2005 GMC Sierra 2500HD last summer and installed it in September. Installation was fairly easy but the bumper required shimming and some twisting to make it look straight on the truck. I did receive a lot of compliments on the look. Now, following 1 winter, I am noticing rust spots on the edges around the air vents, in many places along the welded seams, all over the underside of the bumper and especially at the ends facing the tires. It appears to be a very poor quality powder coat that is wearing off in places and not intalled correctly in others. I am very disappointed that I have not even gotten 6 months out of the bumper before I have to remove it again and repaint it.
Bumper looks great. Bumper and frame have slotted holes for attaching. It was too bad that all of the adjustment was used up just getting the bumper attached to the frame brackets. Had to end up shimming with 3- 1/8" washers on one side to center bumper. After it was installed I am happy with it. Looks great.
The bumper and bull bar look Nice, bumper was bigger than thought by pictures. It should keep deer out of my radiator.
Bumper was a 1/4 inch out of square. welds needed a bit more attention to the welds. The bolts to attach the bumper was not included and also the instructions was missing too. On the other side of the spectrum I love the bumper it looks great. I think It just needs some more improvements to be priced the way it is. I will say I'm a welder and mechinist so I know what im talking about which is probably why I judge so hard. But I like it and thanks - billy
The bull bar for my boondock bumper was easy to install and looks great.
Bumper was as-advertised. To make it fit good so there wasn't a gap between the bumper and my grill/headlights, I had to cut about an inch and a half off the top of my front frame rails. After that, it fit and looks good. Quality was what you pay for. Not like a TDK is, but, $400 cheaper. Worth the money in my opinion
