Installing this lock is a little scary if you don't want to scratch your paint. Removing the original bezel was a pain so be patient with it. Familiarize yourself with how the tailgate mechanism works so you know how this lock needs to be positioned. Once you install it, tighten the screw and pivot the hardware to the left so that the locking mechanism doesn't have any space to move down. Test it while the lock is engaged. If there's space between the lock and the tailgate mechanism, it will still open. Test it and make sure it works before you install the new bezel. It's also a pain so start by securing the top portion correctly then push the bottom part till it locks. You may need to do it a few times to get it on perfectly. Again I say, be patient. Good luck and I hope I helped someone with my review.

Product looks nice. Installed easily. Worked fine until weather turned cold. Installed this as a security measure for winter trip to Fla. First cold night in Tenn. , would not unlock. After several attempts, I gave up. Slammed my cab door and tailgate dropped open. Lock will not work, even though I am now in sunny Florida. Very disappointed.
    EXCELLENT LOCK.

Fit is good, looks like it came with the truck. Install was not hard, but had to buy the socket to remove OEM mounting screws, per intructions. Surprised how simple the locking system is. I feel a lot better about leaving stuff in the bed, under the tonneau cover.

I bought this lock because some scum tried to steal my tailgate the 1st day I had my truck! This is a really cleaver design, but the instructions leave something to be desired. It took quite a while to figure out how to place the lock assembly to work correctly. All in all a nice part at a reasonable price. I'm pretty sure the cost of a replacement tailgate would be slightly higher!

The lock works good, easy to install, but the handle bezel will not fit.
I USED MY ORIGINAL Bezel drilled a lock hole , and now it works fine.
