Description

Adding a front hitch to your truck or SUV is a great way to get more out of it. Curt front hitches are Class III and have weight ratings up to 9,000 lbs. straight line pull and a tongue weight rating up to 500 lbs. Each hitch has a 2" opening that allows a wide variety of accessories to be used.

Curt front mount receiver hitches are constructed from only the highest quality materials and they use precise robotic welding for maximum strength, giving you the best fit possible. Each front hitch is given Curt's Evergloss black powdercoat finish, protecting it from the elements as well as corrosion. Included detailed instructions allow for a fast and easy mounting without any drilling for most trucks. They are also shipped with all heavy duty grade 5 hardware.

You can use front hitches for just about anything a rear hitch can be used for. Front mount receivers can handle winches, bike carriers, spare tires, or even cargo carriers. We have front tow hooks on our vehicle and we just removed them and replaced them with the front receiver. We thought it was pretty impressive. It is a bit heavy but has to be to do the job it is designed to do and we would not want it lighter.

2008 Nissan Titan Pro 4X: a couple of small clearance issues. This front hitch feels heavy, well made, and has clean robotic welds. It was an easy 1-man install and took about 1 hour. There were some clearance issues with the factory skid plate brackets and the factory tow hooks. The factory skid plate on the Pro 4X IS NOT COMPATIBLE with this hitch, so I left it off. This is not an issue for me and the hitch itself will act like a front skid bumper. This would not be an issue for Titans without the factory skid plate. I also used a grinder to remove some excess casting material (approximately 1/8") from the inside edge of the factory tow hooks in order to reuse them. This would not be an issue for Titans without front tow hooks. I plan to use this hitch for a portable Warn 9500 winch.

This hitch was installed easily following the instructions provided and with the aides contained in the kit for installing the backing plates and bolts. Two jack stands made the job easier. The installation does require modification of two bolt holes, which could be a challenge for someone without the proper tools. All in all it was a nice clean installation.
