I would have rated the nerf bars a 5, but the hardware to attach the bars to the truck were wrong. The bars look great and are nice and heavy duty.

These are well made and attractive bars. Installation was not difficult but the instructions were unclear and the hardware kit was not the one designed for my truck, a 2012 Silverado 2500 HD extended cab. The instructions called for replacing the factory front body mount bolts with ones provided in the kit. However, the ones in the kit were the wrong diameter and length, and the originals were grade 8 with a washer head, the kit ones were neither. Also the instructions and kit provided for a brace at the rear of each bar. Problem was, there was noplace on the truck to bolt the braces to. I ended up attaching the bars in front with the factory bolts and not using the rear braces. I wasn't about to drill holes in the frame of a brand new truck. The bars are performing well but Dee Zee needs to upgrade it's instruction and hardware kit.

Install was an ease! Best thing to recommend is not to tighten all the bolts until everything is lined up first - learned after driver side mistake but was a quick fix. Looks great for the value!
