Description

Dee Zee FX running boards are available with the cab section and the rear box step. These FX running boards have been around since 1995 and they are one of the leading side steps sold today. The FX extruded aluminum running boards have a distinct rounded front edge and OEM approved black trim, which is their calling card. These running boards are available in both cab length and wheel to wheel for most popular pickup trucks and sport utility vehicles. I am giving Real Truck 5 out of 5 because of their customer service. The product I purchased (running boards) was not exactly as advertised. Real Truck worked with me to resolve the issue while the manufacturer gave excuses, even when the packaging clearly stated to contact them with any problems. It is the manufacturer's responsibility to ensure their distributors are advertising the products correctly.
Real Truck personnel were always friendly and professional.

The order was taken on Tuesday evening, and the product was delivered Thursday. WOW

Saturday I opened the cab section of the running boards to check parts and instructions. Parts are here, directions are clear, but I need an 18MM socket. I go to town and purchase the socket.

Sunday, after breakfast, I tell my wife that I am going to install the boards and I should be done in an hour or two. I open the box section of the running boards. They are Silver. You will note that I ordered Black.

Monday morning I spent some time on the phone with Real Truck, and after having a lengthy discussion with a supervisor he agreed to re-order the correct boards from the manufacturer (who had shipped the wrong ones). The concern here must have been that they did not trust that I would send the Silver ones back. I had the Black box section by friday.

Saturday I started the process of installation. This to was a problem. The 18MM socket was not needed. You need a 22MM socket. After installing the boards per the directions, they just didn't look right. So, it was my turn to call the manufacturer. I described my problems and concerns, and they returned my call later that day. The customer service person explained the direction were incorrect. That they had changed (might have been nice to print and include the correct instructions).

Well they are on and look nice. The actual installation is quite easy, if you have the correct instuctions. Now, we will see how long they hold up.

1. Start out wrong bolts for channel , had to go get them-[ 8 pcs. 1/4-20 x 3/4] ,2. parking brake cable in the way had to mod, 3. front flap low quality & fit bad 4. running boards are to far under body 5. spray coating missing on face 2"x4" must have been made on monday or friday to bad could be real nice stuff if someone cared a little bit
i have had Dee Zee running boards on my truck for 17 years and they are way better than the new ones !!!
i will buy from Realtruck again they did a great job

The running boards have a 4 inch drop, nowhere in the item description does it state that. I was expecting a 2 inch drop (never assume). The mounting brackets (2 for each board)are extremely heavy duty, although a center support bracket would go a long way in making these much more sturdy. The instructions were easy for me to read and follow. The rubber mud flap is a little "cheap looking" but works ok. For the money, I got what I paid for.

Very nice set of running boards. Third set of Dee Zee boards and will look at more in the future. Price and delivery were competitive and delivery was on time and merchandise was intact.

I am happy with the look of the running boards but they do hold the dirt and hard to keep them clean. The installation was easy but only after i had to take them on and off twice. There is a cut out on the one end of the running that has to go to the front of the truck.No where in the installation guid does it tell you this.

All material arrived complete and in good condition.
Instructions were somewhat criptic but adequate.
One bracket needed modification to allow for emergency brake.
Overall quality was very good. Would buy again.

The running boards i bought from RealTruck are great. I am somewhat dissabled and need the strenght of these running boards to climb into my truck. They hold my wieght of 200 lbs, and more. I am very pleased with them. I would recomend them to anyone.
