(Woodland Hills) on 09/2008 Any tailgate mat is an improvement over scratching up the tailgate, which will rust in a few years. This is my second mat on a new (2004-2008) body style F150. The Driver Design mat is larger than the Koneta I had on my prior truck, a plus. It requires more screws, and the screw holes are not inset as they were on the Koneta, so the screws will eventually mar something as it is slid across the cover. Additionally, the cover is oversized, and I had to trim it. This is not a big ceal, but I'd advise using a new, sharp utillity knife blade to ensure a clean cut. I guess I would buy this again, as it offers more protection than the other one I've used, but it does take longer to install. YMMV.

The new tailgate mat has a smooth surface and is also comfortable to sit on.
