Do Extang tonnos work with bedliners?
Yes, however there are a couple of additional steps needed to make our tonnos compatible with them. If you have an under-the-rail liner, you may need small rubber shims to help lift our tonno cover over your tailgate protector. If you have an over- the-rail bedliner, you will need to notch your bed liner so our clamps can go through the liner and wrap around the lip of your truck bed. Instructions for doing this are included with every kit.

Can I open and close my tailgate with your tonnos?
YES, Extang tonno covers do not restrict the tailgate in any way.

How many support bows do the tonnos come with?
Three bows for a short bed
Four bows for a long bed
Note: Extang Tonnos have always came with more bows than many other tonno companies, giving the Extang Tonno the best support for rain run-off and really good looks. But, there are customers who have asked to buy an additional bow for even a better, more macho-looking tonno-and you can too! Just call or email our customer service department and they will help you order what you need.

Do your tonnos come in any different colors?
Yes, Black is standard, but we do offer a variety of other colors. Light Gray, Dark Gray, Navy, Off-White, Brown, Tan, Red, and Wine are available. These systems are a custom-order item, and take somewhat longer to produce. If you are thinking about a specific color, we suggest that you call our customer service department. Upon your request, we can send you our chart of custom color swatch samples.

What can I clean my tarp with?
Extang recommends that our tarps be cleaned with soap, water, and a medium bristle brush. If you wish to use a vinyl conditioner be sure to use our new TONNO TONIC™. Many other vinyl conditioners (such as Armor All®) contain chemicals that can actually damage your tarp. TONNO TONIC™ actually bonds molecularly to your Extang Tonno to give it that brand new look day after day. TONNO TONIC™ will not attract dust nor will it coat or seal your cover. TONNO TONIC™ actually allows your tonno to breathe naturally, while enhancing the appearance and providing with additional UV protection. Automatic car washes are usually safe, however you will want to avoid any sort of wax treatments.

Are Extang tonno covers difficult to install?
NO, for a retail customer the average installation usually takes 30 to 40 minutes (a professional installer can do it in 10 minutes. There is no drilling and no tools required except for the alan wrench which is supplied by Extang. Everything you need for a great looking tonno cover is included in your kit.

How do Extang tonno covers attach to truck?
All of are tonnos are a Clamp-on, top mount design. Along each side of your truck bed, there are clamps, which grab the lip of your truck bed. Our clamps and rails are completely padded - there is no damage to your truck.

How does your tonno cover attach to my truck?
All Extang Tonno Covers are no damage systems. Most are attached to your truck bed with clamps. There are a very few however, that require what is called a wall plate. This wall plate uses a 3M® adhesive tape. The wall plate attaches to the inside of the bed and then the top part of the clamp bolts onto the wall plate. Extang Trifecta Tonneau Cover Warranty

WARRANTY DURATION: Lifetime Frame: Extang offers a lifetime warranty against defective materials or workmanship on all tonno rails, aluminum components, clamps, bows, hardware. 10 Year Tarp: Extang offers a 10 year warranty against defective materials or workmanship on the vinyl covering. The 10 year warranty coverage is as follows:

WARRANTY CONDITIONS: This warranty is against defective materials or workmanship. The warranty is void if the product has been damaged by accident, unreasonable use, neglect, improper service/installation/removal, modifications, acts of God, normal wear and tear or other causes not arising out of defective materials or workmanship. Consequential and incidental damages are not covered under this warranty.

THE FOLLOWING CONDITIONS WILL ALSO VOID THE WARRANTY: Wind whip damage: Tarps must be secured at all points when vehicle is in motion. An unsecured tarp will flap, resulting in damage to the fabric.

Improper cleaning: Recommended to use the tested and approved Extang Tonno Tonic™ or clean with soap and water only. Do not use vinyl conditioners (i.e. Armor All®) because they will shrink the vinyl.

Overloading of cargo: Cargo should not touch the tonno at any point. Protrusions in the tarp will stress the fabric. Cargo may shift while traveling and cause it to push against the fabric and damage it.

The warranty applies to the original consumer/purchaser and for the truck on which the tonno was originally installed and shall not apply if the product has been removed from the original vehicle.

Warranty registration must be on file and/or proof of original purchase (detailed and dated receipt) required for warranty to be effective. Warranty coverage starts from the date of purchase.

PERFORMANCE: Provided all warranty conditions are met Extang will either repair or replace (at Extang’s option) the product or component. Extang may require the original item to be returned postage prepaid for final determination. Extang reserves the right to substitute and offer the respective warranty discount on an entire replacement system or provide other remedies than those listed in this warranty for discontinued products or other reasons. A return authorization number must be obtained from our customer service department prior to returning any product. Shipping charges will apply for any repair or replacement. This warranty gives you specific legal rights and you may also have other legal rights which vary from state to state.

Instructions do not indicate that you have to reapply some kind of scotch guard.however, i have purchased the Tonneau Tonic for the vinyl underneath the cover to help make that last. I highly recommend this cover. Plus, RealTruck was prompt on delivery.Only concern would be to hope that UPS handles your order well?

For anyone that's still concerned if it's weather-tight, it is. I've had wood that just sits in my truck thru rain, snow, etc and it's bone dry. Another great feature is being able to remove/replace the entire cover in seconds so if you need the full height + length of the bed (moving furniture) it's no problem. Only complaint would be that for the 8' bed, the cover is still only tri-fold, so even when it's fully folded, the front 1/3 of the bed is still covered. The durability of the fabric is surprising too--I've had pieces of aluminum poking the cover and it doesn't show any signs of wear or damage. Overall a fantastic product, if I bought a new truck I'd instantly buy another of these covers. I don't actually remember how I lived without it. Great value too compared to rigid sliding covers.

I purchased the cover to go on vacation, and received it the day before we were leaving. I had concerns about the cover clearing the tool box, and did not try to install untill we were at the camper. After mentally preparing for the install process, grabbing tools, cigars, pop etc. I started the install by pulling the cover out of the box and checked how much modification was going to be needed. I was INCREDIBLY SURPRISED the bow over the tool box cleared it. NO modifications, NO adjustments, NO nudging with a hammer. The attachment points connected to the composit bed rail system perfectly!! Install time was approx. 30 mins, including time to declar to everyone that "I did'nt need to change a thing". No tools needed except for the allen wrench provided in the parts bag. The cover looks good, works good. These Tonnos are great!

Real Truck and Extang have never returned my emails. The box arrived and it had been opened and resealed that was my 1st concern. The 2nd was the 1st set of hings do not set flush on the bed rail leaving an air and water gap. I assume this is why the tonno balloons up on the Highway. (Very dissatisfied with that part.) Now I needed to remove it and the front clamps are stuck. Even after fully unscrewing the turn knob the clamp stays in place. I'm afraid to pry it because I don't want to break it or scratch the truck. The tonno also had a lot of long strings hanging from the stitching like they forgot to cut them off after it was sewon together. Over all not impress with sevice form Real Truck or Extange. Not Impress with quality for the money spend.

Not concerned about the snap buckles showing next to the cab. There has to be some way to secure it open and I cannot imagine a better alternative. It took about five minutes to install including opening the box. Very easy for one person to remove completely and reinstall.

Only one drawback: Even with a locked tailgate thieves can lift the cover at the tail end to peak into the bed. Though they'll have to cut the cover to actually take anything out. I prefer the Trifecta over any heavier hardcover.

On the Ridgeline, you have to remove two of the tiedown hooks at the front of the bed in order to install the rails that support the cover. The bed cover does include the Torx wrenches to do this. In addition, the rails somewhat restrict the opening of the trunk lid at the rear of the bed. I did find some minor water leakage into the bed in a heavy rain. Other than these minor annoyances, a good product.

The initial email stated a ship date that ended up being two weeks later. I know some items require a special order, it should be stated somewhere when ordering that products not in stock will ship at later dates. I was then told by customer service after the initial ship date, that my order was being delayed another two weeks. Fortunately, my order arrived a week ahead of the delayed date. The product is great and the customer service was good.

Folds completely flat to allow use of entire bed. Would prefer something solid you can't easily cut, but for the price and simplicity it was a good option.

It looks great and since my tailgate locks, it's somewhat of a theft deterrent when it's closed since you can't unlatch it without the tailgate being open. (Colden, NY) on 03/2008 After doing a thorough search of my options, I decided on the Extang Trifecta which would better suit my needs of a removable, smart looking, functional cover for my new Duramax. It goes on in a few minutes, just follow the instructions, removes very easily, does everything that it's designed to do. I was very curious how the Buffalo winters would affect the cover and I'm very pleasantly surprised with how it's holding up. My truck sits outside, so I've easily had over 12 inches of snow on it with absolutely no effect. Actually having a softer cover makes it easier to remove snow, even packed ice. It's also held up very well cosmetically to the elements which are severe here in WNY. My last cover was a hard fiberglass cover which looked great but not removeable except by two people, and so, making trips to the landscaper or the Depot for large items made it very difficult to use and not very practical. Case in point, over the holidays, my buddy purchased an Elliptical for his home gym. I offered my truck to go pick it up at Dick's Sporting Goods. They wheeled out this large box, over couple hundred pounds who's height was going to be above the rails...........no prob. With my buddy who's had several trucks himself, standing there, I quickly removed the cover and stowed it along the side of the bed, and we pushed the large box into the bed and closed the gate............that impressed him, and the manager of the store who was standing there watching us load it. So, if you want the best of both worlds with a great looking cover which is functional and easily removeable by yourself, look no further. This is a quality product at a very fair price!!

(Atlanta, GA) on 03/2008 This was just what I was looking for: lightweight, easily removable, able to fold up and still remain attached, and it didn't require any drilling of the bed rails or other permanent attachements that might get damaged with cargo when removed. Haven't had any noticable water intrusion while driving. Fit isn't absolutely 100% perfect at the rear corners, but it's pretty darn close and will probably get better as the seals form to the bed rails. Product arrived ahead of schedule, had it on in about 30 minutes, taking my time with adjustments.

I cringed a bit.. seeing the canvas and wondering just how it would look.. where everyone else has either solid or vinyl... But.. I was shocked! It looks sooo nice.. and changes the look of my black 2008 Silverado... I LOVE IT! The tri-fold is so easy.. a caveman could do it... And, if a good deal comes along for an EXACT SPARE REPLACEMENT... I will consider getting one for show and one for work!!!!
