Gas Vehicles
Higher compression ratio engines and engines with superchargers or turbo chargers were designed to use only premium octane, so only one (1) Power Tuning program for premium octane is provided. But, if your car or truck came from the factory capable of using more economical regular octane, then two (2) optimized tuning programs are provided: one for premium, and the other for regular. In most cases, Hypertech's exclusive Power Tuning for regular octane provides excellent power gains, almost as much power as premium octane. If you are using premium octane, and you want all out, maximum power, then select premium octane Power Tuning.
E-85/Flex Fuel Vehicles
We recommend premium octane tuning for vehicles using E-85 fuel. The improved engine tuning will increase the part-throttle efficiency and wide-open throttle performance compared to the factory tuning.
Diesel Vehicles
Three (3) stages of Power Tuning are available. Even the highest power level Stage 3, maintains safe EGTs while towing the maximum weight specified by the vehicle manufacturer. Will Hypertech tuning void my warranty?
No. Federal law prohibits a dealer from voiding your warranty just because you are using aftermarket parts, with only two exceptions: A warranty claim can be denied only if the part is the cause of damage, or if it adversely affects the emissions or the emissions system.
What is Hypertech Power Tuning?
Power Tuning is the optimization of the fuel delivery and ignition spark timing curves to produce maximum horsepower and torque. An engine's air, fuel and spark requirements vary throughout its operating range. When Hypertech's engineers and technicians develop Power Tuning for a vehicle, their objective is to absolutely nail the best spark timing and the best air/fuel ratio for every point in the rpm curve.
Can I run regular gasoline?
While most tuning is designed and calibrated for 92 or 93 octane fuel, we do have some applications that have a dual fuel tuning program available.
Will Power Tuning hurt my engine in any way? No. Best power is always made when air/fuel ratio and the spark tuning has been optimized for maximum power, meaning maximum "push" on the piston during each power stroke. Damage occurs if the air/fuel mixture is too lean, meaning that there is not enough fuel for the amount of air in the cylinder. This results in excess super heated air which can cause burning of valves and pistons and will also induce detonation (which can break pistons, etc.) Relative to spark timing, too much "advance" will cause detonation which reduces power and can also damage parts exactly as a lean mixture does. When we finish power tuning, your engine will run at maximum efficiency yet safely distanced from possible damage due to leanness or excessive spark advance.

Was very dissapointed in the "factory settings" for power.... the 24 valve engine did not preform as good as my old 90 model 12 valve.. After installing the Stage 2 setting with HYP-52008 Hypertech have only pulled the work load about 250 miles.... WOW!!! It now pulls and runs like I wanted and needed... Haven't really had chance to check fuel mileage real good.... but seems to have improved at least 2 mpg with work load.. Thanks for your quick response to my order.. WOW!!! Great product. I have increased my mileage by nearly 5 MPG. My truck runs like it's brand new (it has over 125K on it). I can't wait to take it on a road trip this week and see what the mileage is. Super easy to use and just the right amount of options. I would recommend leaving the shift firmness at stock to avoid buying a new transmission. All the extra power you get might do a number on the trans and you don't need firmer shifts anyway. Stop reading reviews and buy it already.

This was an easy install, although it wasn't ready out of the box. After downloading an update from hypertech, it was pretty much a plug and play- just follow the prompts on the screen. So far my intown mileage is about 1-1.5 mpg better and highway 2-3. There was a noticeable power increase, the real test will be when I have my trailer with my harley dresser on. Very pleased with product and would recommend it to anyone wanting to increase performance and mileage.

I had ordered the Hypertech max Energy Power Programmer for my 05 Dodge Ram 1500. After I installed it,(20 min) I noticed immediate power gains. I have yet to see better fuel economy. Odering this product was easy and simple. Real truck had the cheapest price by far. The product does what it is advertised to do. It took about 5 minutes to install.I noticed the difference in power and fuel economy immediatly. I noticed miles per gallon went up about 1.5 mpg. Not alot to some, but with a power increase and a gas savings what more can you ask for.

I originally purchased a competitor's programmer for the purpose of reprogramming my 2003 F250 6.0L for my new 35 inch tires. But, when I received it, the device worked on every truck except the 6.0L for tire sizes. So, being much more careful, I contacted Hypertech and asked about my specific truck, and they were incredibly fast and very nice. So, I ordered it and it worked perfectly.
The only slight against the product is that you have to manually enter the VIN number to mate it with your truck, but I am thinking that is for security purposes.
Great product and great people at Hypertech in their support center.

For my '07 Dodge Ram 2500 with 5.9 diesel I got 1-1.5 MPG increase on stages 1 and 2 respectively. I see a noticeable inrease in power and I am not finished experimenting. Programming was very easy and service was excellent.

Real Truck is an awesome store to deal with. The product itself was good but not up to all of the hype. I noticed a little better acceleration, and some definate better throttle response. I havent seen any noticeable MPG difference even when Im babying it. The most improvement I noticed was when towing. The transmission reprogram also helps. Overall, Im pleased but not impressed. On a scale of 1 to 5 the programer gets a 4 for me, but RealTruck.com gets a 7.5. Great folks to deal with.

Arrived quickly from Real Truck (within 2 days). Great service. Program was very easy to install. Am seeing a little better power and 1 to 2 miles per gallon increase in fuel economy. Am looking forward to adding cool air filter and change of tires to continue working on economy for a Jeep Wrangler. Good product and service, totally satisfied with Real Truck and the product is good. While the installation was easy was hoping for a little more mileage (2 to 3 MPG, this is the reason I am giving 4 of 5 Star rating).

It was very easy to install.
Power is difinitely there even at 60 miles per hour.
I keep hearing others getting 4 more miles per gallon, so far
lucky to see 2 miles per gallon increase I quess I must be doing
something wrong.
In accordance with power curve it would appear 2200 rpm would
be the best speed to run, but at 2000 rpm Im speeding.

I am getting about 1.5-2 mpg better than I was stock using level 1. I see very little difference in mpg in level 2, a little more power. The power difference in level 3 is very noticeable, but I have not checked the mileage. I bought this device for mpg and do not intend to use level 3 very much, if at all.

Very pleased with the performance gained with the installation on my 2007 Ford F150, 5.4L 3V. I opted for the premium fuel map which gave my truck a huge gain in mid-range performance. The added bonus was an increase in gas mileage under normal driving conditions. Even with the increased cost of premium fuel, it costs less to drive 100 miles than it did with the factory fuel map.
