Frequently Asked Questions
Is it necessary that the white wire is connected?
Yes, it has to be connected to 12-volts. This wire circuit is what allows the switch to activate the relay, which pulls power from the battery for the light. If you don’t want your KCs to be activated from your low & high beam lights, you can use your battery or fuse box as an alternative.
What does the warranty cover?
KC warrants all of their products against failure within a 23 year time frame. Fading covers, rusting reflectors/housing units, burned out bulbs and switch failures are all covered under KC HiLites 23 year warranty. Abuse to the product will exclude all warranty coverage.
What does Amp draw mean?
It is a mathematical calculation. Divide watts by the systems volts e.g.(100w / 12v = 8.3a).
Why do I need a relay?
A relay is designed to keep the high current of the circuit away from the switch, pulling the current from the power source directly to your lights. It also gives you the option to tie into your high and low beams.
How can I figure out which lights I have?
Most of these lights have a KC with a four digit number on the lens. This number helps you to identify which light you have.
