5/5 for MF-93137 - MagnaFlow Catalytic Converter
Posted By:Thomas S. (Edmond, OK) on 11/2009
The shipping was prompt and the part fit perfectly. I was a bit concerned that the OEM part had heat shields that the replacement part does not have. Of course I can't be completely satisfied until there are 50,000 trouble free miles on the part.

I bought this CAT for my Accord 2001 2.3L ULEV LX. It is a perfect fit as far as the mounting holes are concerned, but there is no holes to mount the heat shield from the original CAT, but it is no big deal. After I installed this CAT, I am getting better mileage and acceleration, very good product. I have driven more than 1000 miles and no engine light.

Mounting bracket welded to pipe was in the wrong place compared to the original pipe, and too thick. It required considerable grinding to provide clearance with a cross member. Other than that the part was great. Tom Tippett

The product was great at first, nothing like stainless steal. The problem came when I attempted to bolt up the catalytic converter. In the process of making the flange the company bent it(the pipe was oval shaped). I had to cut about three inches off the pipe and buy a coupler from an auto store to make it work. Other than that it works great, the car passed DEQ.

This product fit perfectly. I unbolted the old stock converter and this one bolted right up in its place. I did have to go to the local auto parts store for new bolts and gaskets.

The product said it would be a direct bolt in. It wasn't the correct one.

Perfect direct replacement. A great product at an extremely great price. I have a 1993 Honda Civic EX and just replaced this with my old catalytic converter (probably the one been on there since 93). It fit perfectly and didn't give me one problem bolting to my aftermarket exhaust system. Since the replacement, I have seen a huge improvement in my gas mileage and also in my acceleration power. I would recommend this product to anyone.

Fit prefectly direct oem fit. Notice a big difference in power and air flow. Sounds real nice with headers and a catback exhaust.

Thanks for a great product. Despite my mechanics concern about EGR problems, I had the Magnaflow converter put on. It fit great and there is NO check engine light. I saved over $350 and couldn't be happier.
Thanks,
Bill

The product is a quality product. But for some reason it was not an exact match. The pipe from the Cat was too long and had to be cut about an inch. The “Y” pipe up sweeps that connected to the exhaust manifolds were also too long. When attached, the crossover pipe landed about 2” below my transmission oil pan, giving a ground clearance of about 2”. I cut down and re-welded the two up sweeps to match the factory Cat exhaust pipe. I used a mig welder. It would cost about $300 dollars to modify the new pipe in order to make it an exact replacement for the factory Cat pipe. I have a 2002 Firebird with a 3800 Series II engine (3.8L). It sounds great, and has worked well with the rest of the MangnaFlow Cat back which I installed first. If you want the Cat back to really sound good, you have to also install the Cat pipe, it made a world of difference.

Although the order arrived quickly and "out-of-the-box" it appeared to be a well made part, it simply wouldn't fit. The second 90 degree elbow kept striking a front suspension tie rod. When I laid it side-by-side with the OEM converter, it appeared the front flange was rotated slightly along the axis of the gas flow. Unfortunately, I must return the part for a refund.

the product was shipped really fast however the catalytic converter rattles like crazy, not a very good part for such a reputable manufacturer, must be made in china like everything else these days.

Good product. Bolted right on for an easy installation. My car barely passed smog check though even with this new catalytic converter and a new O2 sensor. But hey, it still passed.

Took a long time to receive. The product was out of stock so, I had to wait almost a month for the manufacturer to make some more. When I finally got it, it was not a direct fit as listed. I had to do some modifying myself to make it work and it still has a very small exhaust leak. About the only thing good I can say, is that the price was pretty cheap.

I installed the converter about a week ago and so far so good! I wasnt overly pleased about having to drop the tranny cross member to get it in but its done and thats all i care about. Just in case your thinking about freeing up the exhaust on your s10 get the direct fit and no matter what you are told you do need both converters not just the one even magnaflow will steer you wrong on this untill you call tech support and then they make you feel like a jackass so take it from me just get the direct fit.

Mr. Howard "The Duck" was nothing short of awesome! Realtruck.com's customer service is impecable! The part, however, fell a little short. Not any fault due to realtruck though. Magna Flow messed it up during production. But, after some small modifications, a little cut here, a bend here, and a couple welds there, the part now fits and works spectacular. I recommend Realtruck.com to all my soldiers looking for parts for their truck parts and accessories. Thanks guys! Hopefully next time we get better info with the compatibility of parts.
