Manufacturer InformationFounded in 1996, SuperSprings International, Inc. has developed a patented line of self-adjusting suspension stabilizers that solve many of the handling and suspension problems associated with loads carried by passenger vans, pickup trucks, minivans, and SUV's. The Company's products give users extra loading and towing capacity and prevent rear-end sag without hardening the ride on vehicles having leaf spring rear suspension systems. The product was developed for the American market with production initially established in California to serve the market on the West Coast. Marketing efforts have continued to expand and SuperSprings are now distributed through a national dealer and distributor network throughout North America. Product applications for SuperSprings have evolved from being solely for pickup trucks to a broad cross section of vehicles including SUVs, 15 passenger vans, minivans, and RVs including Class C motor homes and campers. SuperSprings have also been accepted by large-scale manufacturers in the van conversion business. Thanks to our enthusiastic customers, the installed base of SuperSprings continues to double every year. SuperSprings now has supercoils for front end coil spring upgrades to remove front end sag.View all Super Springs products Manufacturer Documents Note: Adobe Reader is required to view PDF documents: Download Adobe Reader View available Products for this Product Line |

Easy to Install and No Suspension Knowledge Required. With SuperSprings Self Adjusting Suspension Stabilizers Independent tests showed SuperSprings improve driving control by 29%. The difference that makes all the Difference. 3 in 1 = Airbags/Add--A-Leaf, Sway Bar & Performance Shocks. SuperSprings provide additional rear support for your vehicle on an as-needed basis. The further the vehicle leans into its springs, the greater the counter-force exerted by SuperSprings. This "progressive" action greatly reduces the exaggerated lean on a turn, resulting in more comfortable and confident driving. SuperSprings are designed to counteract the effect of soft, high suspensions by providing: Progressive increase in vehicle support during cornering and while carrying heavy loads.
Initially designed for off road use at slower speeds, SUV's sit high off the ground and have softer suspensions than cars to facilitate driving over large obstacles and through difficult terrain. When SUV's take a bend or curve at higher speeds, the soft suspension design causes an exaggerated lean which can not only be uncomfortable for driver and passengers but can also lead to overcorrecting the steering resulting in a sudden swerve or roll-over. SuperSprings Anti-Sway Safety Stabilizers do not replace the existing springs, but function together with the vehicle's existing suspension system, providing additional support only as required, when the vehicle enters a bend, turn, swerve or when carrying a heavy load. SuperSprings Do not stiffen the ride when your vehicle is empty or on a straight road, as do overload springs. SuperSprings Are inexpensive and easy-to-install. Plus they Require no maintenance. SuperSprings reduce rear end sag and sway due to heavy loading. Today's light trucks and Vans are designed for smooth ride and comfort when empty or lightly loaded. When fully loaded, the softer suspension in these vehicles tends to let the rear end sag, compromising safety and comfort. SuperSprings Solution: Progressive support as vehicle load increases. SuperSprings compensate automatically to increased loads and add the support needed to help keep the vehicle level. SuperSprings work with the existing springs to add load stability with greater control and safety. SuperSprings do not adversely affect or stiffen the ride when the vehicle is unloaded. SuperSprings enhance load carrying capacity, handling and towing. Do not load any vehicle beyond the manufacturer's gross vehicle weight rating.

FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS ON SUPERSRINGS SELF ADJUSTING SUSPENSION STABILIZERS
1. Why should someone buy SuperSprings?
They can load their vehicle and/or tow with their vehicle without ever having to make any adjustments for varying load amounts. SuperSprings acts in parallel with the existing factory spring-pack and kicks in only when loaded or when experiencing heavy cornering. Our springs have been independently tested to give a 29% improvement in driver control by drastically reducing sag and sway while maintaining a nice, smooth ride.
2. How are SuperSprings different from Hellwig helper springs?
SuperSprings use a “Rolling Shackle” instead of a U-bolt, which allows the SuperSprings to only kick in when needed thereby alleviating any rigidity and produces a nice smooth ride.
SuperSprings are designed to suspend 3” above the factory springs perform like an ” I-Beam” to drastically reduce sway by preventing the factory springs from twisting. Traditional helper springs do nothing to reduce sway.
3. How are SuperSprings different from air bags?
SuperSprings are maintenance free while air bags have a history of bags leaking, rupturing, and lines being pinched. This requires time to repair with a cost for labor and parts.
Installation time for SuperSprings with power tools is no more than 30 minutes while air bags require anywhere from 2 to 5 hours. SuperSprings drastically reduce sway while air bags do nothing to reduce sway.
4. Where should the rollers be placed on the existing leaf springs to ensure proper functionality?
At least 1" away from the end of the next leaf of the existing leaf springs. The SuperSprings rollers need space to move when they engage and disengage. If they bump up against the end of the next spring they will not be able to self-adjust properly.
5. Do they need to be centered over the factory springs?
No. Locate them near central as possible but more importantly ensure that the rollers have room to move up to one inch.
6. Do the rollers need to be on the same leaf at both ends?
No. One end can be placed on the second leaf while the other end is on the third leaf.
7. How much clearance above each end of the existing leaf spring is needed to avoid the SuperSprings from hitting anything above?
At least 2" clearance is needed to avoid ”bumping.”
8. What is the weight rating?
SuperSprings are rated in three categories. Light Duty rated up to 2,000 lbs., Medium Duty rated up to 3,000 lbs. and Heavy Duty rated up to 5,000 lbs. This rating is based on the combined capacity of the payload and spring capacity.
9. How long should each installation take?
With power tools, no more than 30 minutes.
10. Can they be used in addition to air bags?
Usually No. Air bags are usually installed on the leaf spring where SuperSprings needs to be installed. If the air bags are out of the way, it is possible to leave the air bags on and add SuperSprings.
11. What is the warranty?
Lifetime Warranty for the life of the vehicle on which it was originally fitted.
12. Which hole on the shackle should be used?
The top hole is used when clearance is an issue. If it is a tight fit or you are not sure the top hole is always a safe bet. For most full size trucks the clearance is not an issue and the bottom hole works fine. The top hole is also used to give the vehicle more lift. If minimal lift is desirable then use the bottom hole or a combination of top in front and bottom at the back.
13. What are the bushings made of?
Nylon bushing stock.
14. Can SuperSprings be used on a car?
Yes provided it has leaf springs. You need to measure the existing leaf springs from eye to eye and subtract 10 inches or call our toll free tech support line at 877-216-5446 to determine which SuperSprings model is appropriate.
15. Can they be used on the front leaf springs?
Due to the demand from pick-up truck drivers that fit snowplows to the front of their Ford pick-up trucks in the winter we have developed the SSA17. These springs level up the front of the vehicle by lifting it between one and two inches.
16. Do they harden the ride?
No. One of the biggest benefits to using SuperSprings is they Do Not Harden the Ride.
17. Do they lift the vehicle?
No. Should you want to lift the rear of the vehicle you can do so by fitting the rollers to the upper bolt holes or a combination of upper and lower bolt holes. By doing this you can lift the rear-end by up to two inches.
18. Are they needed when using a weight distribution system (WDS)?
No. Weight distribution systems are used to keep the vehicle level when towing. However, SuperSprings also keep a vehicle level when towing and in addition drastically reduce sway of the vehicle.
19. Is the ride as soft as with air bags?
Many people claim the ride from SuperSprings is better. With air bags the correct air pressure is critical. With SuperSprings, there are no adjustments necessary, and they work in tandem with the factory springs.
20. What holds the center in place?
The dynamic forces exerted on our spring forces it to maintain a central position over the axle. On applications requiring a mounting kit there is an additional Hold Down Clamp used to secure the spring.
21. How do you know what the part number is if the part number sticker is not legible?
The part number is stamped on the back side of the spring.
22. Do they affect the performance of anti-lock brakes?
No. ABS relies on speed sensors not on suspension improvements.
23. Do the anti-lock brakes need to be recalibrated?
No. ABS brakes need to be recalibrated only when changing wheel and tire sizes.
24. How do they work with self-leveling shocks?
