It allows for increased airflow, which increases horsepower and torque, while reducing EGTs. The factory intake tube often has baffles, sharp bends, and obstructions that send out flow-restricting wake like pebbles in a stream. Others have constrictions in the diameter that further impede airflow. Our intake tubes feature smooth walls, gradual bends and transition chambers that straighten the airflow into the throttle body or turbo inlet. The tube is constructed of textured cross-linked molded plastic that cuts down the heat transfer from the hot engine compartment to the cold air flowing through the tube.
