First day installed I was lightly hit in step bar 3 times by 2 small cars (under 5 mph). No marks, not bent. Gauge of metal on the thin side, but very capable for a step and light bumper protection. Would purchase product again.

(Leonia, NJ) on 03/2008 As much as its intended use was not to protect my new Ridgeline truck's rear end from the city bus, it served well and prevented perhaps thousands of dollars of damage. It was bent upwards with the impact when the city bus with 18" tall steel plate bumper ram into my truck from the rear while sitting at the red light. Yes, it does not need replacement but I was so pleased that I had this hitch step installed on the hitch receiver. It also served its primary purpose very well, by the way. I highly recommend it even if just to protect the bumper.
