Pop and Lock Corporation is a private Canadian company with manufacturing facilities in Welland, Ontario. The company employs over 60 people in the engineering and manufacture of parts for the automotive, defense and electronics industries. Products are exported to the United States, Mexico and South America. Mitech Plastics is a basic manufacturer of ignition parts and accessories. The power tailgate lock adds the convenience of one-button tailgate security. Locking and unlocking your tailgate from your truck's cab becomes as easy as locking and unlocking your doors. Permanently mounted inside your truck's tailgate, the Power Tailgate Lock connects using simple push-and-lock connectors to your truck's power door lock system. Lock your doors and the tailgate automatically locks with them! Lock your tailgate and have security with the push of a button. Prevent tailgate theft. Works great with truck bed covers, caps, lids and toppers.

I was a little hard to install on a 2002 silverado because you had to do everything from were the handle is and when you add the after market handle it made it even harder. But it works great and the best part to me is you get the security without the bulky unattractive appearance. You can not tell it is there until you try to open the tailgate. Great product! Well worth the money!

The provided cord is not long enough for a Megacab. I followed the brake wires to the cab and then drilled through the floor next to the emergency brake wire. I installed a small grommet I picked up at an auto parts store and I am very satisfied with the results. Note for installation on late model Dodges you will also need a door panel removal tool to take of the kick panel (where you splice into the door lock wires).

	MI-PL8110-0003 - Pop & Lock Electric Power Tailgate Lock Posted By: Seth R. (Grand Blanc, MI) on 03/2008 I installed this on my 2002 GMC Sierra and it's been working perfectly. The real test is always if it makes it through a Michigan winter, and I have to say I am very pleased with it. Installation went pretty good, the only thing that wasn't too pleasant was crawling around underneath the truck and having the undercarriage crap fall in your face. Other than that the directions for wiring everything up to work with your remote keyfob were pretty clear, so I would recommend this product.

The wiring diagram is wrong and the tech line at the manufacturer is of no help. Hopefully they will update their documentation and provide an update online for future users. I had to figure out the wiring on my own with a test light!
