Description

The Snow Bear BB50 snow plow is a personal utility snowplow designed specifically for home and small business owners. The BB50 snowplow is the perfect fit for most compact to fullsize trucks and SUVs with a blade size of 82" wide and 19" tall. It features a full steel blade with tubular steel framing that is durable enough to plow through the deepest snow drifts mother nature can throw at you. The BB50 snow plow is finished with durable black powdercoat as well as side blade markers. It also includes power lift and lower with an in-cab switch. Users can easily lift or drop the plow from inside the vehicle cab while on the go. The BB50 snow plow includes a 3-position blade that is manually adjusted to allow offset plowing to either side of the vehicle. Vehicle specific mount brackets offer easy, bolt on installation and allow the plow to be quickly attached or detached when you need to plow. All SnowBear BB50 snow plows are backed by a 1 Year Warranty.

Please Note: This item ships truck freight.  It does require 2 people to unload or a lift gate.  The additional fee for a lift gate is $85.00.  Please plan accordingly for delivery.

 Good quality item. I've used the plow once so far on a wet 5" snowfall. It worked well enough. Assembly was straight-forward. The winch system works fine to raise and lower the blade. I have a small acreage with a gravel driveway and lot that I use the blade on. One thing I learned is that you can't have the blade all the way up when you go to manually adjust the blade to one side or another. It binds. Put the blade down a ways and it moves back and forth with ease.

 The mount comprises 2 brackets that are mounted to the frame of the vehicle with provided bolts/nuts. A metal crosspiece is connected between the brackets. This crosspiece mates with the plow assembly via 2 projecting male posts, and is held together with removable pins.

The brackets have pre-drilled mounting holes. Mine did not fit exactly, and required additional drilling out. The metal is thick, so if it doesn't fit, you'll need a big drill press or find a metal shop to do it for you.

Overall, I feel the mount is a bit light. All the force of the plow depends on the two brackets that hold everything to the frame. I found myself cringing as I pushed my first snow. It held together, but it doesn't feel very strong.

 I purchased the vehicle specific mount and after recieving it and the plow found out that there was a certificate for a free mount. The fact that I could not use the mount is not the problem. returning the mount for a refund is somewhat of a hassle since the supplier is located in Canada. Anybody ordering a snowbear plow should be aware the vehicle specific mount is provided free of charge from the supplier.

 Appears to be well designed for it's intend purpose. They have a problem counting small parts- 2 trips to the hardware store were required to obtain missing nuts and bolts. Large parts had numerous paint chips due to poor packaging for shipment. Also, some surface rust noted under paint chips. Some grinding was required to get their parts to fit together (this was not a problem with getting the parts to fit my truck). Instructions are adequate for the first-time to get it all together. Very pleased with the way the system works and would buy it again.

 The mount kit fit perfectly, the price was better here than from the manufacturer, and it works well. The only reason I didn't give it 5 stars (and it's not the fault of Real Truck) is the absence of detailed instructions. Snowbear only supplies an exploded view drawing of the mount kit along with rudimentary written instructions. Had they included step-by-step instructions, the installation would have been much faster. I overlooked the slide-in bolt receivers for about an hour, and was having great difficulty until I took a more in-depth look at the exploded view parts list.
