DescriptionTrue Flow introduces its True Flow XDI Xtreme Duty air intakes for universal and vehicle specific late-model direct bolt-on applications. These new XDI air intake systems by true flow offer a solution to many heavy-duty trucks that suffer from undersized air-filter boxes that choke air flow to minimal engine requirements. True Flow replaces the factory air box and restrictive factory plastic tube to increase air flow. The True Flow XDI, constructed from powder-coated aluminum with direct bolt-on applications including powder-coated mandrel-bent tube and nylon-reinforced silicone couplers. By doing this, True Flow is able to improve horsepower and torque in application’s requiring greater airflow than the factory intake is capable of. Awesome Product! Suggest it over any k&n or other cotton mesh type product. The foam air filter really stands above them in protection. Not only that but this thing really makes your truck sound sweet

This is the way to go if you need an intake system. Xtremely easy to install ( 25 minutes), Quality made product throughout this intake system. Improved fuel economy by 2.5 miles per gallon. I would highly recommend this to anyone. Only downside is that the aluminized tube does tend to get hot, but I would prefer that to plastic. Plastic will get brittle in time and crack. Overall Great product, great service and price from Realtruck.

Really nice intake. I'm not a super mechanic. I probably have slightly above average mechanical knowledge and skill. Installing this intake probably took 45 minutes. The hardest part was removing the Air Intake Temperature Sensor (AIT). Be super careful with the the AIT on the JK Wranglers it's very very fragile. I broke the tip of the sensor very easily while trying to install it into the True Flow intake. It only cost me $16 to replace but a real inconvenience to trying to get the replacement part. Use a petroleum jelly or white lithium grease on the rubber grommet for the sensor, it makes it much easier slide the sensor in place.
Ok, now for the good stuff. I did notice a lot of improvement on acceleration with the new intake from a complete stop. Acceleration overall is more responsive. It seems gas mileage slightly increased also. Not a whole lot but a little. On a full tank of gas I was getting around 220-230 miles with the stock filter. With the new intake it's closer to 245 miles. 15 extra miles isn't bad. Under the hood it looks awesome and has a subtle growl when driving. On the downside I do get this whistle every now and then, it was annoying at first but now I hardly pay attention to it.

OK...not a 1/2hr job, but still pretty easy! Only problem was the grommet for the air sensor; it popped out after the initial start up, which added another 30 minutes. I had to remove the couplings and retrieve the grommet and then reinstall. Once installed this product ROCKED! I had reset the MPG before I drove to the hobby shop and then after I installed and I had a legitimate 2.4 MPG gain and boy does my truck growl now!!!!!!! This is a must have! I would gladly purchase again.

It didn't bolt right in, I had to bend and twist it to fit. Now it's really close to the A/C line and is rubbing on the vehicle frame.

The kit arrived, was labeled correctly and there appeared to be no shipping issues. Half way through the install, I discovered that one of the supplied parts was incorrect for my truck. I called Realtruck and let them know, asking to exchange only the incorrect part (which turned out to be the tube containing the air flow sensors). I ended up taking a digital photo and emailing it to Realtruck who forwarded it on to XDI. XDI then shipped out the correct part (so I was able to attempt a reinstall in about a week or so). The second install went well except that getting the meatl cylinders into the rubber elbows and tubes was quite difficult due to a tight fit. Once I set it in place, trying my best to duplicate the instructions, it turned out that the tube containing the mass air flow sensors was rotated too far away from the engine to connect the sensors...So, taking it apart and reconnecvting those red rubber hoses was a pain, BUT, once the air flow sensor tube was rotated with the sensor mounts more toward the engine, the sensors worked well. Bolting the intake cannister to the fan guard was also a tight fit and I had to go back and really advance the rubber tubes as far as possible on the metal cylinders in order to achieve reasonably true fitment.
The results were very much worth it. I simultaneously placed a 5" Silverline exhaust (from the particulate/soot filter back) so I can't say how much one contributed over the other, but, the combo added an immediately and very noticable improvement in responsiveness. My RAM 2500 was much quicker with any acceleration (weather from a standstill or while cruising). Fuel mileage at highway speeds was also improved (even though it was already pretty good), probably by around 4 mpg. More power and more efficiency...what more could you want? I had been contemplating adding a power module but will probably hold off given the already enhanced performance.
Turbo noise is more prominent at all speeds, even when cruising steady at highway speed and definately more prominent with acceleration. I find the more aggressive sound appealing during acceleration but wish it might be ever so slightly quieter while cruising at highway speed (before placing the new intake, the turbo noise was essentially undicernable at crusing speed).
Overall, I am very satisfied with the product, despite the few gliches with installation.

Install went great and customer service with True Flow is outstanding! I had a question during the installation and called their 1-800 number. They answered my question and walked me through the install process...outstanding! The product is great, giving me more HP and a more aggressive sound. My HEMI can really breath! The only thing that I did not like about the product is the cheap metal screws that hold the air filter in. Two out of the 5-6 striped out due to the mis-alignment of the cap and the body. I plan on drilling and tapping the holes out and replacing the screws with allen head bolts.
Other then that, this is a top notch product and I WILL be recommending this to all my friends!
