i'm reserving the 5th start for durability. i have only had it for four months. read the instructions at least twice before you start...i started the 1st time and had to quit. reread them and it went on like a charm...instructions could be better written. last cover i had was a different brand and was wonderful but no longer available. stayed soft and easy to snap even in the coldest weather...this isnt the easiest to line up to lock up, although it does stay softer than most covers in cold weather...also, not sure how long the velcro will last...one side had come unsealed while driving the parkway in high winds...had to pull over and reseal...the bed does stay dry as long as the sides remain sealed...love the roll up cross bars...
Great product--easy to install. Looks great--sits taunt and flat.
I purchased this cover for my 2013 Toyota Tacoma. This was the first tonneau cover I have ever purchased for any of my vehicles. I have family members with different style tonneau covers (snaps, 3 frame section style, etc) but none of those style covers really seemed good to me. So, when researching different covers I came across this Truxedo Truxport. A coworker has one on his truck and after checking it out I was sold on it.
I like the rail mounting system. It just clamps to the body with 3 clamps on either side. No drilling or adhesive. What I like best is the rear (tailgate) rail. It snaps in solidly and automatically tensions the cover. It's tight every time. There are 2 positive catches/latches to secure the back rail, just push them to release the rear rail and start rolling up the cover. Just be sure to hold on to the rail before releasing the last latch because the rail will jump up due to the tension that's on it.
This is a good looking cover. No wrinkles or bows sticking up through causing bumps in the cover. There is Velcro along the sides but it works well. You just smooth the cover down on the Velcro after snapping in the rear rail. No need to release the Velcro when rolling up the cover, just release the 2 latches and start rolling. Very quick and easy. The 2 cover support rails that span the body roll up in the cover and are attached to it with Velcro loops sewed into the cover.
The mounted cover sits about 1 1/2 inches above the bed sides. Very low profile really. It looks good. As I mentioned, this is on a 2103 Tacoma. You can use the tiedowns on the bed rail system. I also have the Toyota factory bed divider in my truck. The mounting brackets use the factory rail system and they clear the tonneau cover as well. The cover clears all of these when in place. That was a selling point for me as well.
Others have noted that when the cover is mounted on the Tacoma bed, it isn't even in that the front bed sides stick out a little more than the rear when the tonneau cover rail is mounted on the truck. This is the case but it's not an issue. The tonneau rail is square/rectangular, the truck bed is not. Apparently, the bed tapers in some at the rear of the truck. This causes the uneven appearance of the tonneau when mounted on the truck. It's not an issue. It still looks good. The bed stays dry. You might get a few drops of rain in the bed. I haven't scrutinized it that much. Basically, my bed stays dry for what I wanted. I haven't seen puddles in the bed or any noticeable water. It seems to work well. Remember, a tonneau doesn't make the truck equivalent to an SUV by installing it. It would still be easy for someone with a knife to get into the bed and get what's there as well. It is what it is.
Basically, this is a well made product, easy to install with almost no tools. The price is good. It's quite water tight and it looks good. It's far more convenient than snaps, full hard cover tonneaus, framed section tonneaus, etc.

got it and installed it in just a few min. I like the new trip latches I think they will be better then the originals
I had purchased one of these to replace one that gave out after 10 years on a prior truck I was so impressed I bought one for my new truck 2013 RAM. Originally my concerns were the heavy snow we receive in upstate NY. That proved to be a non issue on my last truck so I am assuming it will not be on this truck. Holds up very well to heavy snow and now that I have a locking tailgate I doubly like the locking cover! The only issue I had and take this with a grain of salt I don't read directions! was I had set the cover up too far forward on my trucks bulkhead rail when I was finished and rolled out the cover it fell short of the actually meeting the tailgate! Had to loosen everything and reposition the cover further back which made it appear the front edge was no longer on the front bulkhead. Hence the 4 stars. maybe a note in the instruction that when cover is centered correctly it may appear off center on the front bulkhead. But it has not leaked a drop in spite of heavy rain or car washers. Very pleased Ron Syracuse NY
You can use your whole bed by simply rolling up the cover; nothing to remove. The ONLY negative was that the installation instructions are so POOR that they are practically worthless. A simple link to a good YouTube video of the installation would have been wonderful and most helpful, but this video apparently does not exist.
