Description

TruXport is a soft, roll-up tonneau cover at a “snap-cover” price, and provides an economical alternative to snap-style and zip strip-style truck bed covers. The Truxport truck bed ocver is a roll-up cover that mounts on the top of the bed rail for additional hauling capacity. Rear cross member and bows roll up with the cover in less than 30 seconds, and complete cover self-stores at the front of the bed. No parts to remove. TruXport Tonneau Cover Frequently Asked Questions

How do I care for my TruXport? tonneau cover fabric?
The vinyl fabric on your tonneau cover can be cleaned with mild soap and water, and may be hand washed or safely cleaned in the car wash of your choice. Thoroughly rinse cover to remove any soap residue. Vinyl cover can be treated with any vinyl protectants made for tonneau covers. Never clean cover with petroleum or citrus-based products, and avoid silicone based protectants. Some examples of good products to use on your vinyl cover are 303Products, Mothers brand products, and Meguiar?s products.

What is the difference between the TruXport? and a TruXedo� Lo Profile tonneau cover?
The TruXport? tonneau cover is intended to be an economic alternative to traditional snap-style covers. It has fewer features and benefits than the premium tonneau cover, TruXedo� Lo Profile.

How does the fabric of the TruXport? differ from the Original TruXedo� and TruXedo� Lo Profile fabric?
All of the TruXedo� brand tonneau covers are made from 100% Made in America Seaman fabric. The Original TruXedo� and TruXedo� Lo Profile covers are made of 18 ounce fabric and the TruXport? is made with 14 ounce fabric.

Is the TruXport? weather proof?
Although no tonneau cover is completely waterproof, the TruXport? tonneau cover will help to keep rain, snow, and dust out of the bed of your truck. The TruXport? has seals on all four sides.

Can I use the TruXport? with my toolbox?
The TruXport? tonneau cover does cover the entire truck bed. It cannot be made to fit with an existing toolbox.

Does the TruXport? come in any other colors?
The TruXport? fabric is available in black only.

How can I keep the TruXport? tonneau cover tight?
TruXport? tonneau covers come with an easily adjustable tension control system, located at the rear of the cover, near the tailgate. By turning the plastic dials on each side of the cover, you can adjust the tension on the cover.

How does the TruXport? mount to the truck?
The TruXport? is a top-mount design, meaning it mounts to the top of the truck bed rails. The rails of the TruXport? are clamped onto the truck bed rails on each side using three clamps. The front and rear headers attach to the TruXport? rails.

I have other truck accessories. Can I use the TruXport? with them?
Since the TruXport? is mounted to the top of the truck bed rails, it cannot be used with bed rails. It can, however, be used with bed liners and bed caps. If you have questions on other specific accessories, please call our sales office at 1-877-216-5446

Can I lock the TruXport? tonneau cover?
The TruXport? tonneau cover cannot be opened without opening the tailgate. Cover can be locked when used with a locking tailgate.

Will the TruXport? fabric fade in the sun?
The fabric used in the TruXport? is very high quality and has been tested in extreme conditions. It is UV-protected and will not fade in the sun.

I would like to install my TruXport? myself. How long does it take to install a TruXport? tonneau cover?
The TruXport? does require more assembly than the Original TruXedo� and the TruXedo� Lo Profile. On average, it takes about 20-30 minutes to install.

With other inexpensive tonneau covers, it is difficult to operate them in cold weather. Will TruXport? work in the cold?
TruXport? fabric expands slightly in cold weather, so it is very easy to operate ? even at 20 degrees below zero! There are no cumbersome snaps of zip-strips to hassle with ? no more tugging on the fabric to get it snapped. Just roll it back and latch into place. Then slide your hand along the sides to engage the Velcro� brand fasteners on the sides.

So far as I can tell, no leaks and stays tight. Would definately recommend. Only thing I would change is the tie-downs for use when the cover is rolled up. They are sometimes hard to locate as they fall between the cab and truck box.

(Lewisville, TX) on 06/2009 The cover itself is very sharp-looking and greatly functional, but I had 3 problems that I encountered. First, the Ford factory bed liner in my truck prevented the proper placement of the clamps (the center clamps are not able to be placed anywhere near the center; and the front and rear clamps cannot be optimized as they are not allowed to clamp at the furthest ends of the rail bars). Second, the additional adhesive weather stripping that is supposed to be applied at the bulkhead near the cab (to provide sealing with the cab railing) didn't stay adhered to the bulkhead, again due to the bed liner. The bed liner is a plastic material, so I believe that to be the main reason why it wouldn't stay adhered correctly. And thirdly, the weather stripping that is factory-attached on the cab-side railing (that the cover is actually connected to) came unattached from the railing itself. This is obviously a defect, and I don't know how common of an occurence this is for this cover. Another reason why this might have happened is due to the excessive heat and humidity I was experiencing at that time. And the weather might have also played a role in the additional adhesive stripping not staying adhered to the bed liner. Anyway, all these factors contributed to the bed cover not performing as well as I had hoped. Maybe if I lived in a cooler, less humid climate and didn't have a bed liner (or this particular one) then I might be completely satisfied. Jared, Texas

(Arlington, TX) on 06/2009 All in all, this is a good cover; my fuel economy went up about 1.5 mpg (when I do a lot of highway driving). I installed it on a 2005 Nissan Frontier and the cab design requires another piece of weather-stripping to be installed onto the bed's bulkhead - I've found that the adhesive for this piece didn't hold up to the Texas heat. It's still pretty weather tight though. I've had the cover about a month and it serves its purpose. The product ships directly from Truxedo in South Dakota and they left the bed rail clamps out of the box for my order. I called them about it and they sent the parts overnight at no cost to me. Dollar for dollar, I don't think you'll beat it for a vinyl roll up.

The cover installed quickly and easily. I only had to back and refer to the instructions once or twice. Looks good and very functional. The cover stays tight while driving at highway speeds. Its been snowed on a couple of times and the contents of the bed stayed dry. The combination of the velcro sides with the latching mechanism in the back seems quick and easy. As well as the bows incorporated into the cover make rolling it up super easy. Over all I'm Very satisfied with it's design and functionality.

(Concord, NC) on 06/2008 The only thing I see wrong with the cover is it needs more seal on the front next to cab as you can see daylight under the cover from the back. a thicker rubber seal there would be good. this cover works good with a truck that has lockable tailgate as it makes the cover lock also because you have to open the tailgate to open the cover. None of the product information or reviews mentions that the cover is held taught by Velcro, but it does hold very tightly. I had to cut up an old mouse pad to make 4 extra weatherstrip pieces for the corners, I wonder why TruXport hasn't fixed this yet?? There's an eighth of an inch gap there. Still, the cover seems to be a decently high quality product for the price.

I have purchased several of the Extang Express rollups at over $100 more, but they did not make it for this particular older Ford. The TruXport works very well for the price. The quality and materials are not nearly as high as the Extang, but for the price it is a very nice product. The cover material seems very sturdy and installation was simple. The operation of rolling up is also very simple. I have taken it through the car wash and down the interstate and it is still attached solid and looks great.

(Eldridge, IA) on 03/2008 The cover has been on my pickup about a week and I noticed that the velcro that keeps the cover tight on the sides has pulled out of the channel allowing the cover to remain loose. The velcro is insufficiently secured in the aluminum channel that fits on the sides of the pickup box.

It is hard to push the two release buttons on the tonneau cover the way the truck bed is made and the location of the release tabs. The tonneau cover is a good one, but someone should look a finding a better way or a better spot for the release tabs.
