Had a pair of these on my 2001 Chevy Truck. but the current offering for a 2012 4 Runner are not the same quality. Installation was easy enough, but when finished I found that the right side bar did not run parallel to the rocker panel. The bars do not fit or look like the ones pictured. Bars have cheap plastic end caps and the bar does not continue under the truck as pictured. Bars end abruptly at a 40 degree angle at both ends and appear as cheap as the much cheaper offerings. Don't waste your money. Buy the cheaper model, they're the same cut, fit and finish. Picture also doesn't show the two braces that extend from under truck. All cheaper models have these simular braces which are prone to rust and corrosion. As stated earlier, the bars I purchased for my 01 Chevy did not have these rust prone braces and they wrapped completely under the truck elliminating the need for the cheap plastic end caps. Pass this one up and save a bundle.
I am very happy with my nerf bars. The first shipment of bars were damaged in shipment. Realtruck did an outstanding job of getting me a replacement pair. I believe Westin could have done a better job in their packaging. But their product looks really good and the quality seems to be first class.
I ordered and received the Westin Platinum Nerf Bars. They had a dent in the bars when I opened the box. RealTruck was extremely helpful in getting a new shipment of nerf bars sent to me from Westin. It was a pleasure working with RealTruck.
Recently installed these nerf bars and I am very pleased with how they look and perform. They were very quick and easy to install as well. They are very stable and fit perfectly.
I ordered some Nerf Bars for my truck at a great price. Shipped on schedule, delivered on schedule, no damage in shipping. The price and shipping times were clearly stated. What else do you want? Oh, yeah, they fit perfect. Thanks!
Guess I'm not as mechanically inclined as most others since it took me about a half day to install these on my 2011 Toyota Tacoma to include a trip to Lowe's to obtain conventional hex nuts to replace the hex lock nuts included in the kit.
First, the instruction sheet is poor, at best.
Second, I could not thread the included hex lock nuts on to the hex head bolts more than two or three turns with conventional hand tools before the hex lock nuts would "lock up" and not turn any farther (either forward or backward). Thus, the trip to Lowe's to get conventional hex nuts and lock washers which worked fine. Maybe the use of an impact wrench would solve this issue.
Third, instructions recommend to torque step bar bolts to 65 ft-lbs; however, it is impossible to access these bolts with a typical torque wrench once the brackets are attached to the vehicle frame as per instructions.
RealTruck service was great, at usual; however, I doubt that I'll be buying anymore Westin products anytime soon.
standard delivery, got in 3-4 days
These are the best looking step ups I've seen on the road. I had some Weston Nurf Premium bars on my last Tundra which still look great after 5 years so I put these on my new Tundra and they look even better. I installed them in all of about 30 minutes. Could not be happier.
Item was reasonably priced and it arrived very quickly
