Just because you have a toolbox in the bed of your truck, doesn't mean you are out of luck when it comes to finding a tonneau cover. You can get the same great function and use of the Extang Express tonneau cover and still be able to keep your toolbox. This is a great solution no matter what brand of toolbox you have installed as this cover supports most standard 20" toolboxes.
The tonneau cover is made to open and close easily with fingertip release by just one person. When you are going to roll with the tonneau up, it will secure right behind your toolbox with heavy duty luggage style clasps.
The fabric of your new cover is made with premium sewn, commercial grade tarp, with fully finished edges. The bows are black anodized, scratch-resistant, and heavy duty for lasting support. Express truck covers from Extang also feature an automatic tensioning system, keeping the tarp in perfect tension resistance. This means no matter what kind of climate you are working in, your tarp will be tensioned the way it should be.
Since the cover frame rails mount to the top of your bed, you get more side to side hauling capacity when your tonneau is rolled up, plus it covers your stake pocket holes, if you truck has them.
After you have loaded the bed of your truck up, keeping it safe and secure is important too. To secure the bed of your truck, the Extang Express features a heavy duty locking rear tail rail. You can pick up the Extang Express Tool Box Tonneau right here at RealTruck!

When I received my cover I wasn't sure it was going to fit with my toolbox because I have a low profile toolbox. The only issue with the low profile toolbox is the toolbox latches are under the cover, but since I rarely open my toolbox it doesn't bother me. My husband and son installed it in under 30 minutes and it looks great!

Does not fit! Just to let you know of the problems that I encountered. My toolbox is a 19" not the standard 20" width that these are designed for. I have a 5-6" bed and the toolbox is a Kobalt from Lowes that is installed as close to the cab as possible. I had to add more foam at the front of the bed to get the toolbox to seal with the bed. I have 1/4" from the top of the toolbox lid to the back glass of the truck. The cover lacks 2-3/4" from coming to the tailgate. They typically overlap the toolbox by at least 2" if not 2-1/2" to seal. When I called the Products Customer Support, was told that I have the wrong toolbox and the product will not work with a 19" box.
I said that i didn't understand and the gal, I'll call A said that it was designed for use with a 20" box. I still don't understand as this unit appears to be 5-1/2" to 5-3/4" short. I could not get her to understand that a toolbox 1" wider is still not going to allow the cover to reach the tailgate. Also, as a side note, the cover was sewn incorrectly because it was real snug on the right side, but the left side was actually loose by about 1/2". Bows were placed in the highest location to take up the extra slack as per the directions, also before you question the installation.
She finally said to send it back and an RGA would be issued. Sent the unit back and got a phone call a couple of days later that the unit was defective and I would be credited and could reorder another.
I stated that I really didn't like the Express model since it covered up the stake pockets and you could not use them for tiedowns. She recommended the Fulltilt Snapless Toolbox style, model # 40475. I promptly ordered this unit.
Guess what! This model 40475 is 2-1/4" short from hitting the tailgate. Back on the phone with "A" again. Oh, this unit is designed to be used with a 20" toolbox.....
In your case what you need to do is order another L-Bracket for $39.95 and put it in front of the toolbox next to the cab to move the toolbox and cover further to the rear. What the sh..? You should give this to me as I feel that it should be included in the kit. No, you have the 19" toolbox. If I had the 20" toolbox then your cover would work? Well you may still need to purchase the L-bracket for $ 39.95, "If your cover doesn't seal on the tailgate.
Really Ex..... are your engineers that dumb? Apparently your sales rep "A" is, if she thinks that I am going to buy more parts to get this to fit my truck. I have dealt with extang since approx 2003 and have purchased about 15 of these covers for my trucks and my friends trucks.
Guess what? Never again! Will search for a different manufacturer not a cookie cutter one.

looks great helps improve gas milage. Only thing i see that needs improving is the plate that goes under the front of the tonneau cover that supposedly keep it water tight lets water in, but with a strip of caulking that will fix the prob other than that looks great and does its job.

Overll good item, did arrive with wrong parts at the front catch and had to wait a further 10 days for replacements. Easy to install but cover edges are not too well finish so it looks like there are wrinkles which makes it look like its been on the truck for a while.
