Beam patterns explained
What is the difference between driving lights, spot lights, fog lights, and flood lights?
Often referred to as fog lights, driving lights have a beam that is able to travel a longer distance, but not as wide. Driving lights perform best when used to supplement your high-beams. Or they may be aimed lower and supplement your low-beams.
Spot / Off-Road Lights
Spot lights are strictly for off-road usage due to their powerful, tight beam. Using an array of spot lights will offer more coverage by aiming them at slightly different angles.
Fog lights are generally mounted low on the vehicle such as the bumper or bumper grille. The light pattern is very wide, with a flat horizontal cutoff. When properly aimed, fog lights are the perfect complement to your low-beams. This is by far the most popular beam pattern and are installed on many vehicles from the factory - though there's always room for improvement by upgrading your existing fog lights.
Flood lights have a beam pattern that may be similar in width to a fog light, but the beam does not have a horizontal cutoff. Therefore they are also for off-road use only. As with spot lights, a mounting location high on the vehicle is ideal.View Available Part Numbers For This Product Line

The Idea of having two light in one is a good one and even the intensity it is fair but (a big but) it leak though the glass and the case even when the rain was a average Florida rain. I hope people will read this before they do a full installation (with holes in the dash and body of the car) and find out that this will happen.

With the ability to change between road or fog lights with the flip of a switch is a major plus with this light setup.
The lights are very well constructed, and their appearance makes my truck shine up front.
I had to do some extra work to make the lights fit inside of the grill area, but that wasn't much of a problem. The electrical instructions were alittle confusing but a friend helped me with that matter.
I am more than satified with the lights, and would recommend them to others wanting this type of road light setup.

These lights are pretty good, they are not the best fog or driving lights when compared to lights that are one function only, but they definitely make a difference. Install was easy, mounting was easy, but since fog and driving lights work better at different angles its hard to find a sweet spot to aim them at. The housing for the lights is metal, and they have real glass lenses. Overall I give them a 4 out of 5.
Easy installation, heavy duty switch, enough wire lenght, the light casing is well built...The only con is light output I wish they were brighter ...but it works for me...I mainly wanted something to let me see the road lines in bad weather conditions and they do exacly that. Good light overall.
