The Pace Edwards Bedlocker is remote operated tonneau cover that can be locked anywhere along the rails using an electro-magnetic brake system that's built into the canister. The electric motor wires to your truck's battery and utilizes a drive system release lever to allow use of the cover in case of a power loss.
The cover is constructed of double walled, extruded aluminum slats that can support 400 lbs evenly distributed across the top of the cover. The aluminum slats are protected with a semi-gloss powder coat finish that is weather resistant, as well as scratch and UV resistant. The Pace Edwards Bedlocker installs easily with no drilling thanks to the clamp-on design for most vehicles. You simply need basic tools like a socket wrench and an Allen wrench.
Silicon hinges help seal off the space between the aluminum panels, while the mounting rails help channel excess water to the included drain tubes. Some vehicles may require drilling to install the drain tubes. Pace Edwards warrants the Bedlocker against any manufacturing defects for a period of 3 years. The cover is also made in the USA so you can rest easy knowing the quality is second to none.
Optional Explorer Series Rails: The BedLocker tonneau is also available with optional Explorer series rails. These optional rails allow you to use your BedLocker with other accessories including truck racks like the Contractors Rig Rack and Utility Rig Rack, as well as other multi-sport rack accessories from Yakima & Thule including the special Thule load bar kits for Pace Edwards covers.
- Explorer rails are recommended only if you plan to add a Pace Edwards contractors rig rack or utility rig rack.

This is the 4th Pace Edwards Bedlocker that I have had. The reason for 4 stars and 3 stars for ease of installation is that is not easy to do a "one man" installation. Instructions say to have help, but I managed. I absolutely like the Bedlocker, for security and appearance. The remote on this new one I think works better than some of the previous ones.

A friend and I installed this cover in 2+ hours... The instructions were clear and each part is well thought out and well-made. We both went at drilling the drain holes in a brand new truck bed with a bit of trepidation but it all worked out well. I suggest a spray can of bed-liner for the holes where the drain tubes are inserted. My cover is the envy of all my truckin' buddies!

RealTruck's customer service is 2nd to none. The cover itself is all that I need it to be (low profile, dependable, and sturdy). I have purchased 2 now, one last year and one just a week ago, and would buy another as well. However, 2 things worth noting:
#1. The motor seems a little weak. For that kind of money they could put something a little stronger in there. I'd have paid extra for a little more HP myself.
I had my 1st motor burn out quickly (within a month), but then it was replaced right away and has held up just fine for for 15 months and counting now. Still, it was worth noting.
#2. The 8' bed versions should definitely come with at least 2 extra brackets to hold it down. Otherwise, it slants in (there goes the low-profile), buckles a bit, and is anything but secure.
I knew this when I ordered my 2nd one (their local service rep installed the extra brackets for me last year when he replaced the bad motor) so I asked for extra brackets to be sent with this order. I'm not sure if the guy at PE was having a bad day or what, but he was really short with me when I called (telling me "our techs are the experts" when I mentioned to him that the longer bed needed more support) and wanted to charge me $80 for these tiny little brackets (which again, SHOULD come with the 8' model). I was willing to pay cost on them or slightly above (even though, again, they SHOULD come with this $2k cover), but on principle I am not going to get ripped off like that (he told me 2 for $60 or 4 for $80 so I know their cost could not possibly be more than $10 each).
In any case, the conversation wasn't going anywhere so I just gave up and figured I would fabricate my own somehow once it got here. In fact, I hung up, because he was being a bit rude/dismissive and as with most people these days (the people at RealTruck are just the opposite and clearly make customer service/satisfaction their #1 priority) he didn't seem to care about a customer who already handed over his money.
With all that being said, he ultimately did the right thing and sent the extra brackets express, and I used them in the install just now. So.. All's well that ends well and good on them for making things right.
Still, I hate to complain and I am not one to pout until I get my way, so I wish that whole thing could have went down differently. Also, the "experts" over at PE really need to go back to the drawing board on this one, because I assure you the 8" bed is MUCH better with 6 or 8 clamps than it is with 4 (sure, it will work with 4, but...). It is a very noticeable difference, but then again you wouldn't know it IF you just installed it with they "give" you.
So, yeah, I would recommend either one of two things: Either PE starts sending 2 extra brackets with the 8" bed OR you call up and catch them on a better day than I did.
This cover is GREAT if you install it properly.
