Description

Chrome is the most classic looking finish you can get for your vehicle and RealTruck is happy to carry Stampede Chrome hood deflectors. Engineered with an extremely aerodynamic reverse flip, the Stampede Chrome bug deflector's main job is to protect your hood and windshield from bugs and small debris like rocks. No one likes getting chips on their truck or SUV, and getting a deflector is a great way to cut down on those little annoyances in life.

Stampede's Chrome shields are made from impact resistant acrylic. They're then put through a wet electroplating process to get their chrome finish. This is the same process manufacturers use on the trim pieces your vehicle currently sports. By their very nature, they're UV resistant and made to sparkle and glisten in the sun's rays like a diamond.

The form fitting design is standard for each Chrome deflector ordered as they are made to fit the year, make, and model of your particular ride. Because they mold perfectly to each dip, curve and swoop of your shield, you get an OE look and a product that performs well.

These bug shields mount in a variety of ways - in front of the grille, behind the grille, or under the hood. Stampede has made sure that each hood shield can be easily mounted at home without any drilling or cutting. Easy to follow instructions are included along with any needed hardware.

I am very happy with my Bug reflector I found out that You have to take the grill of the front to get the bug reflector on I took it to a shop that does that all the time. Other wise it would be a pain in the - - - to do. I gues that you have to take all the nuts off the blots that hold the grill on then some how but the grill at a 45 degree angle then you have to jurk or snap the grill so it pops out. You all need a better way to but this on. Like maybe a off set slot and a hole so you can loosen the nuts slide the bug reflector in and then to the side so the bolt sets in the hole tighten the nuts down and your done. Sound good ?? sure it does.
Easy to put on

Before buying I read the reviews of others & noted that several had difficulty installing. Having had a little experience, I figured I'd be able to work my way through a challenge & that is what it was! Instructions were simple enough except you could not put your hand through my grill in order to remove it. Using a little imagination and effort (2 hours)I was successful.

The finish of the deflector has a couple of blemishes which could not be seen until the protective film was removed. Thus I've down graded the quality rating, as a result.

The removal of the Chrome Grill on my 2013 F150 was portrayed in the instructions as being a fairly simple process .... It was not. After cajoling, wresting and jimmying the grill's top most tabs for a bit over an hour the tabs finally snapped off. The bug shield was then easy to install but the top most grill tabs are gone.... That does not seem to be an issue as the grill is still firmly in place with the other attaching devices but even after the tabs snapped and the grill was off I don't see how the grill could be removed without breaking the tabs unless there is a special tool Ford has to do so. So unless one isn't comfortable with snapping those upper grill tabs off I'd avoid buying this shield.

If that doesn't bother you then this shield is way cool! It blends in beautifully with the front grill work and provides good protection to the hood and front fenders.

I was concerned that snapping off the top grill tabs would create wind noise ... But as far as I can tell that hasn't been a problem.

I really like the way the bug shield looks! It really compliments the chrome grill of my 2012 F-150. I would HIGHLY recommend this bug guard for anyone who wants to dress up their truck.

The installation was a bit harder than what was advertised but it was worth it.

I thought I ordered "front" of grill bug shield, but got a back of grill. I think it was my mistake - however - I am glad they sent me the "behind" the grill version because it looks fantastic!

I have a 2013 F150 and the whole grill is plastic and is all attached to the hood. Weird or what? Anyway after reading several horror stories about taking off the grill I did it anyway. It is disconcerting to hear all the cracking and "breaking" sounds that accompany removing the grill. I gave 2 stars on "Ease of Installation" but that is due to the F150 grill design not the bug shield.

But it does look real good.
