Measure Your Truck Bed for a Tonneau Cover

Does your truck have a track system?

The Undercover Classic is constructed of ABS which is a high-density composite material that is impact and UV resistant. This is perfect for harsh climates that experience all four seasons as well as job sites and hail. While no cover is 100% waterproof, the Classic does a great job keeping the elements out with its wrap-around design, as well as the double bulb seal that compresses to the bed caps of the truck.

Installation of the Undercover Classic is very simple. It does not require any drilling, just a few clamps that are fastened with a 13MM socket wrench. Once the first-time installation is completed, the cover can be removed and re-installed in minutes leaving the brackets clamped to the truck.

Undercover warrants the Classic against any manufacturing defects for a period of 3 years. The cover also is made in the USA so you can rest easy knowing the quality is second to none.

Order Notes

Trucks with the wing-style tailgate cap will need to remove this cap or replace it with a form-fitting cap. View Available Part Numbers For This Product Line

When searching for a bed cover, I had 3 important things that I was looking for (in this order):

1. Waterproof

2. Locks/secure stuff in bed

3. Removes easily to haul taller items in the bed

I previously owned a trifold hard cover that locked that I thought covered all three isssues above. Problem was, that after about 2 or 3 years on my truck, it started to leak at the trifold seals and stuff in the bed started getting wet. Over the next 2-3 years the seals worsened and my bed was getting completely soaked inside with every rain. Completely worthless from from a waterproof standpoint. Eventually, I couldn't even lock the stuff in there securely the trifold seals were worn so badly.

So, I was searching for a replacement with the highest priority being waterproof and locking my gear inside securely.

The Undercover Classic is great so far for me. It is completely waterproof. The edges hang over the outside of the bed so there is no way water is getting in unless it start to rain "up". It is also very solid and it locks with 2 locks on each side of the bed. You can close the liner and secure it down without actually "locking" the bed (so you don't have to use the key every time to open it).

As far as security, I'm sure if someone had a crowbar and was intent on getting into the back of the bed, they could eventually get in. But, I figured, if they have a crowbar, they are just going to smash your window and take whatever they find in the cab. I didn't like the soft trifolds, because someone could just take a knife to one of the panels and get into your stuff in about 10 secs flat.

As far as being waterproof, this is all one piece and I really don't anticipate water every finding a way into my bed.

It was very easy to install. I did it in about 30 min. Just attach the 2 side rails and lift the cover on and secure the pistons and front lock rings.

It is pretty simple to remove when needed, but you do really need 2 people to remove it. Also, you have to take it off and leave it at home if you know you are going to have to haul something tall. You can't just go to the store and decide to take the cover off and put it in the back of your bed. It won't fit. It takes less than a minute to remove: unhook the 2 pistons and take off the cotter rings from the front and it comes right off. But you really need 2 people so you don't scratch it up. It's not real heavy, but it's bulky and you will do much better with 2 people.

So overall,

If your priority is a cover that is waterproof and locks gear securely inside---this is great.

If you often need to haul tall stuff in your bed that requires frequent removal of the cover, this probably isn't the best choice for you. Pick the trifold models and deal with the security issues.

Last thing, the light inside is a very nice feature. Plenty bright to see your cargo at night.

I obviously don't know if the pistons are going to fail after a few years, but so fa
