Curt ball mounts are CNC machined out of the toughest steel on the market. They offer 2 piece ball mounts which are seamlessly welded for maximum durability as well as a one piece that has been forged out of one piece of steel. Can you imagine the towing possibilities with a one piece forged steel ball mount? These rugged ball mounts are made to last and offer a different finishes including black and chrome as well as a Class III selection featured in multiple colors.
These ball mounts are offered in many different sizes and will fall into many different classes. Curt ball mounts classes include I, II, III, IV, V fitting on 1-1/4" X 1-1/4", 2" X 2" & 2.5" receiver hitches.
Class I & II ball mounts will fit onto 1-1/4" X 1-1/4" receivers with up to a 3,500 LB. GTW & up to a 300 LB. TW. These light duty ball mounts are featured in lengths from 6-3/4" to 10-5/16" and are finished with a thick layer of black powder coat.
The next level would be a class III. These bad boys fit 2" X 2" receiver hitches and have a GTW up to 6,000 Lbs. with a TW up to 600 Lbs. They vary in lengths, everything from 8-1/4" to 12-1/4" and have 2", 4", 6", or 10" drops. They are available in an array of different finishes including black, bright red, dark red, bright white, bright blue, dark blue, dark green, charcoal gray as well as chrome. These tough ball mounts allow you to match the color scheme as well as bling when towing heavy duty loads.
Last but not least we present to you the Curt Class IV & V. These extra tough ball mounts are available in a 2 piece design as well as completely forged out of a one piece of steel, ensuring amazing durability and strength. They are made to fit 2" or 2.5" receiver tubes and have a GTW of up to 18,000 Lbs. with a TW up to 1,800 Lbs. There is only 1 length of 8-1/4" with 2", 4", 6" drops. These brute ball mounts are finished with a thick layer of black powder coat.

SpecificationsThe ball mount is placed inside the hitch opening which is mounted to the vehicle. Be sure to check your ball mount before towing to make sure a hitch pin is placed through the hole of the ball mount. The hitch pin secures the ball mount inside the tube of the receiver hitch when towing.
Style Type #1 Ball mount: This style of ball mount is needed when the trailer and vehicle are equally level.
Style Type #2 Ball mount: This style of ball mount is needed when your trailer and vehicle are NOT equally level.
How do I determine what size drop or rise I need for my ball mount?
To determine the size drop or rise for your style type #2 ball mount: (style type #1 is only for equal level vehicle and trailer) First level your trailer and measure from the ground up to the top ID. of receiver tube opening. Second, measure your vehicle from the ground up to the bottom of the trailer coupler. Third take the difference from both measurements and this will determine the size of drop or rise you need. I am very happy with this 2.5" receiver fit my GMC 2500 Sierra Diesel truck receiver, slide in easy 5/8 pin line up, do not have too fight the pin to get in, Black powder coat is very good. It little heavy,but it is solid piece of iron. I do fill very secure about pulling any trailer I own.
