Frequently Asked Questions
How does the Full Metal JackRabbit open and close?
The aluminum panels fit inside the side rails and retract into the front canister. It can be latched every 12", completely opened or locked closed. The latch n lock system makes it easy to open or close. Spring tensioners help the cover open.
What does water resistant mean? The cover is made so water will drain into the canister and out the bottom through drain tubes.
Is the tonneau secure?
Yes, the cover locks with the latch n lock system. Simply turn the dial to open and it will automatically latch when closing. Then lock it with the key provided. If you’re tailgate does not come with a lock, an optional tailgate lock is needed to secure the tailgate.
11% increase in fuel economy, really?
Yes, the low profile aerodynamic design will save on fuel costs. Check out our research.
We have a bedliner, will the cover work with that?
The side rails clamp to the cargo box rails. If you have an over the rail bedliner, installation can be more difficult. If you have an under the rail bedliner, you shouldn't have any trouble, but some may require limited modifications to the front corners of the bedliner. For most spray in bedliners, provided the spray is not overly thick, you shouldn't have any issues. See the bedliner modification guide for more information.
How do I maintain the tonneau?
Here are some tips to help ensure years of smooth operation. Open and close the cover regularly. Grease the wear strips each year or if they start to squeak. Make sure the cover works smoothly after initial installation, if not contact customer support right away. If the cover is hard to open or close, make sure the side to side clearance is at least 1/8". Make sure the drain tubes and bottom of the canister are cleaned out regularly and check them every 6 months. Wash the cover just like you wash your pickup, but do not use wax.
Will my friends be jealous if I buy a Full Metal JackRabbit?
Probably, because owning this cover will grab attention, give your truck's cargo box more function and allow for hard tonneau security.

Everything fits right out of the box. The only issues that I had were due to installing it by myself. Another set of hands would have saved me a little frustration! The Explorer rails are perfect for my Yakima rack, once I found the correct fit ( use landing Pad 5 w/ 66" rails- I bought LP1 and had to do some mods of the flat nuts). I can carry my bike and boards on top of the bed and still have full access underneath. I did a lot of research and definitely made the right choice.

Realtruck answered my e-mail questions quickly. Product arrived on time. Installed it that day in about 2 hours. Great product, looks and works great. Although many online companys sell bed covers, I did my home work and I'm glad I went with Realtruck for my order. Thanks

Tried to purchase locally but after a few days of run around by the local truck accessory store gave up. He had a good price but said he couldn't get the cover for 6-8 weeks and didn't call me back several times. Realtruck was flawless took less than a week to get my cover from Washington to Michigan. Packed nice and no damage. Would easily give 5 stars but it would not fit with my GM bedliner or side protectors. Put unit in and was to tight to tailgate with the bedliner. Took it back out removed the bedliner and put unit back in. This gave me the extra 1/4 to get tailgate closed but unit was too tight to roll properly at rear of bed with the side protectors on. Took unit back out and removed side protectors and reinstalled unit. Works great and looks great now. My advice is if you don't have bedliner or side protectors it is a breze to install with two people because of weight of unit. If you have ad ons measure closely before installing a 1/4 makes a hugh difference. I am going to modify my bedliner and re install. Definate 5 stras but should address ad-ons before installing.

I had one issue with the delivery. One of the side rails was scratched and the other had a pretty good gouge out of it. I called Pace-Edwards and they had me a replacement at my front door in 3 days. Excellent Customer Service!! The other issue was with the instructions. You can intuitively figure out how the thing goes together but the instructions are terrible. Watch the videos on YouTube or on the Pace Edwards site. Also, some of the top cover slats shifted so I had to use a rubber mallet to push them back into place so I could install the rails. The Full Meta JackRabbit is a solid and well constructed Tonneau cover. The tolerances are perfect on my 2011 Ford F250. There are no hacks needed to make this cover fit like a glove. I am very impressed with the low profile and smoothness of operation. I did use some ArmorAll to grease the tracks and protect the rubber sweep seals and that definitely made it open and close smoother without worrying about using a lubricant that could degrade the plastic or rubber over time. I would definitely recommend this Tonneau cover and would only buy from Realtruck.com.

This is an excellent, quality built tonneau cover that provides substantially better access to the truck bed than the OEM folding cover previously installed. Installation was pretty straight forward, but you will definitly need to people to install. I highly recommend thoroughly reading through the instructions a few times; some of the diagrams are not as clear as they could be. The hardware and mechanism seem to be very well built and durable. Had the truck washed the next day and did not notice any moisture in the bed; I won't say any tonneau cover is water proof, but this one certainly seems to do a good job of that. One benefit of this cover for the Honda Ridgeline is you don't damage the plastic bed railcovers like you do with the flip type covers. My OEM flip cover regularly pulled those pieces off when opening. The lock mechanism works very well too. I highly recommend this cover.

I have owned Tonneau covers in the past by three other companies. Leer, Advance & Diamonback. This cover far surpasses the performance and ease of use by any of the previous. I can't believe I waited this long to purchase one of these. I would recomend this 100% by anyone inquiring.
