Very good quality ! Easy to install ! Nice Finnish! A bit pricey , but well worth the money, a small snafu in the shipping, but real truck took good care of me , I will be able to move my kayaks in style, as well as ladders ,pipe, etc.
I would have appreciated receiving all of the installation hardware. No washers and missing two bolts.
I took me awhile to figure out installation. I thought I had to drill holes but the "butterfly" fit into the existing post holes and then everything came together. I did have to buy a new hex wrench for the larger sizes needed. It probably took an hour, not counting trip to hardware store for hex wrench. I am very pleased with the results. It is very securely fastened and very sturdy. I would recommend it to others.
This Rack works out great for transporting our 17' aluminum,(Grumman)canoe. It was straight forward to install on my 2005 Ford Ranger Edge, with no problems; Heavy duty. I'm very happy with it.
I was very disappointed with the fact it wasn't made for a quick installation or removal. I expected it to fit the openings in my RAM 1500; I had to remove the bed-liner and drill 2 holes in the bed to install the unit near the cab.
I have purchased this item for a Christmas gift for myself, and I'm loving it! Easy install. Universal design makes it so. With the jet black paint, looks sharp against the silver finish of my truck. A must have if you have extra long items that need to be hauled. Only wish that it had a support beam that connected the front to back (for extra tie supports, etc). Definitely a great buy for the money and will definitely come back to the site for additional purchases.
I bought this to haul a kayak. It is much sturdier than I was expecting. extremely easy to install.
I found it very easy to put together by myself and put on my truck. Only negative was that the nuts & washers supplied were the wrong size, otherwise a good product and reasonably priced.
If you do not have open cargo rack channels in your truck bed rails, you must drill 3/8" holes - 4 at a minimum. I ended up drilling 8. With 8 bolts plust the clamp on bolts, the rack is VERY stable.
