I used this plow twice. Once on my Toyota 4wd RAV 4 in about 4 to 5 inches of snow. The second time was in my Chevy Colorado RWD in about 3 to 4 inches of snow. It worked very well both times and was easier than using my snow blower. I do plan to install a receiver of the front of one of these two vehicles to make plowing easier, though backing up to plow was not as difficult as I thought. Putting the plow together was more difficult than it need to be; the toughest part was drilling the holes in the plow. Couldn't that be done as part of the manufacturing process? I'll see how it works in deeper snows next season. Definetly glad that I purchased it.
So glad I bought this for my husband! With this snowy weather lately it has paid for itself already. It is installed on the back of SUV and works like a dream even in 12" of snow! Also customer service was wonderful in helping to order the proper hitch. Thanks. It also arrived within the week.
Works great! Did my driveway in 7 minutes vs 45 minutes with my snowblower. It has limitations where it will plow but does the majority of what needs plowed. Get a lot of people asking me "where did you get that?"
Putting it together was a breeze. . . . . . . . Works as advertized. My drive way is 60'long. It use to take me at least 45 minutes with my toro 2 stage, with 3 inches of snow. With the plow, 3 passes and I'm done. Looks great on my truck too. The price was very fair, and the quality is great. I would advise anyone with a long drive way, to buy this great product.
Well designed product, was eash to assemble and is easy to install on my vehicle and works very well for clearing my driveway of snow.
Works great. Wish I would have bought this years ago. I use this to plow my homes and work parking lot. Haven't started the snow blower yet this year in Michigan. Cleans smooth and quickly. Works well with wet or dry snow. I recommend buying extra nuts and bolts just to have on hand.
My old man has been plowing with a cub cadet for years. He might get better gas mileage but he knows the that young buck found a more practical method for clearing a drive. This plow does 3\4 of what a 4,000.00 dollar plow would do. I've already moved freshly plowed piles left by the county workers and there six figure rigs paid for by everyone. The only disability is not being able to back plow or masterbate with the controls.
Plow came very quickly from Real Truck and service seems excellent. The snow sport plow is light and easy to assemble. The plow does best when used on solid surfaces, but does pick up gravel! I have a 3/8 mile driveway I plow and I found the plow to work well, but wished it did not dig into the gravel. I found it worked best when I wait for 6 inches of snow to fall before plowing due to the increased amount of snow keeping the plow from grabbing into the gravel. The plow seems not to grab into frozen grass or ground as advertised, but does an acceptable job in this area. If you have a solid surface the plow works great, but just be advised that it does pick up gravel more than I like, so on that note I cannot give it 5 stars. Overall the plow is a good value and should last a very long time. Randy
I pulled my Jeep in the garage the night before the snow hit. Put the blade on and backed out. With my snow blower it took me 35 minutes to clear my drive. With the Snowsport 180 it takes me about 5 and my back doesn't hurt. And I'm in the heated vehicle with pajamas on.
One thing though. Be careful on steep drive ways! I have a neighbor that has a very steep driveway. I thought I would clear them out. When I backed down it and got to the edge of the street the change in angle made the mount for the snowsport bottom out. Luckily I caught it before any damage. If you have a very steep driveway with a dramatic change in angle along the way, I would not recommend the Snowsport.
I live at 9,000' in the mountains and have a large circular driveway with a 800-1000' private access road. I get 130"+ of snow per year. I got tired of spending 2 hours with the snowblower every time it snowed.
I shopped uber-expensive snowblowers, ATVs, compact tractors and snow plows. When I found this plow, I thought it was too good to be true. Its function seemed a little too close to a plywood home-job plow.
The reviews looked good so I decided to take a chance. It's high quality and well-designed. I'm surprised nobody thought of this before. I got a chance to try it out when we got 6" today.
I put it into the front receiver of my 95 F350 and went plowing. WOW. 5 minutes and I was done. It works--quite well, in fact. Easy to use. Easy to put down. Easy to lift up for transport. You could probably even use it for light commercial use.
For the money you absolutely can't go wrong with this plow.
