History of RealTruck

RealTruck Begins
RealTruck begins - 1998

Founded by Scott Bintz in the basement of a duplex in Spokane, WA in October, 1997, RealTruck began business as a manufacturer's representation firm. In November 1998, the company began operating the e-commerce website It seems odd to say now, but this was a somewhat radical concept back in 1998; the vehicle accessory business had always been dominated by traditional "brick-and-mortar" establishments. Naysayers were convinced that consumers would not want to purchase accessories for their truck, car or SUV over the Internet without being able to touch or see their prospective purchase. However, Scott Bintz charged forth with the vision that the Internet would continue to grow in effectiveness and become a prominent tool for the future of vehicle accessory sales.

In May of 2000, RealTruck relocated to Jamestown, ND for a multitude of reasons. CEO Scott Bintz wanted to be closer to his family and needed to live in an environment with snow — he has an endless obsession with snow. Jamestown was a perfect fit for both criteria. The business continued to flourish and expand over the next few years, and in 2010 RealTruck opened an office in Fargo, ND. Both locations have since experienced substantial growth and expansion, with future development slated.

In October 2015, RealTruck was acquired by Truck Hero Inc. (THI), and helped lay the foundation for THI E-Commerce — the online division of THI. Since becoming a THI E-Commerce brand, has reinforced its commitment to consumers, employees and business partners with steady realiance on the same vision and foresight that resulted in its inception and success. is inspired to continually improve the website and business to provide a phenomenal shopping experience.

In 2016, expansion of the Fargo, N.D. office outpaced that of the Jamestown, N.D location, and the headquarters was subsequently changed to Fargo.
