|Al's Liner Vinyl Flattener Additive is recommended for two reasons. If you don't want your finished liner to have a glossy or shiny finish, and if you want to increase the hardness of your finished liner. |
If you want a semi-gloss finish, then use half the container in your mix. If you want a matte finish, then dump the entire contents into your mix.
A word of caution from my experience and from speaking with a manufacturer's product technician, if you choose to mix all of the vinyl flattener additive into your liner lit, and you also want to use the Rubber Crumb Additive....DO NOT mix all of the rubber crumb into your liner kit or you will be sorry! It will harden in your spray gun hopper before you ever get a chance to spray even a third of the liner mix.
After experiencing this the first time, I successfully mixed and sprayed another batch using all of the liner flattener additive and 1/4 of the container of rubber crumb additive mixed together in the liner mix.
This product does what it is supposed to do....just don't mix the entire contents of the bottle with the entire contents of the Rubber Crumb Additive.
|Nice option for Al's DIY bedliner. I used the bedliner in my boat so I added the flattening additive so the sun wouldn't be bothersome while fishing. It works very well and as soon as the liner dried it showed that it had a nice flat finish.|
